First off the positive points; this tool works. As many have stated you will have an easier time cutting if you leave your vehicle in the sun for a bit. This thing cut the urethane like butter and I do not know what everyone else was doing with their blades but I still have the same blade on it from out of the box. I think that if you do not keep the blade parallel to the glass when cutting and pulling you can potentially damage or bend the blade.
Now for the negative; the blade is too short. I read this by a few other users before buying it and thought "Ill give it a shot, maybe my vehicle will be different". WRONG! Factory urethane and probably aftermarket windshield replacements as well have an area in which the urethane is applied. It is not just a half inch bead all the way around, some spots were over an inch wide while others were as small as half an inch. The blade will typically only work on the outside rim of the windshield which created a huge mess in my experience. I could only cut about 50% of the windshield out with this tool, the rest I had to pry on the glass and use another knife. This tool did get it started, but after all the shards of glass popped out of the cracks from the windshield, and the few nicks in the paint I have made, just pay a professional $100 or whatever for the install. I am a DIY guy, and I am glad I had the experience, but this is not a proper tool. Whats worse is after everything else is done you still need to remove all of the urethane from the vehicle.Read more ›
Works like it should if you know what you're doing. If you buy one of these,
buy the spare tips..... it's not much fun when the tip is worn out
Changing the blades also not as simple as expected as one of the screws was WAY too tight and the screw material is very soft, which will strip if you aren't careful.
I was able to remove my windshield in colder temperatures (~40F) but I had to heat up the adhesive with a heat gun to get the knife to even move.
It will get the job done but this tool is not a quality item. If it was under $10 I would have given it 4 stars.

The blade in it was dull and looked used. And when I went to change the blade one of the screws were already stripped and had to drill it out and re-tap it.Published 5 days ago by Amazon Customer
blade not long enough. it cuts about 80 percent but any wider spots in glue does not get cut clear through so windshield wont come out.Published 7 days ago by opti714
