This seems to be well made, so hopefully it will last a little while. The plastic feels thick, and looks to be of good quality. There are no ugly seams showing. The colors are nice and bright. The kids love taking the eggs out and putting them back in.
These do squeak, but it’s rather pitiful unless you really bang on them. I would compare the sound to a squeaky wheel, or two plastic things rubbing together. It’s not cute, like a chick’s “peep”.
The latch on the front is a little challenging for the little ones to open. We generally have to open it for them. They tend to open it while holding it, and have a hard time unlatching it. When they do get it open the eggs and tops fly everywhere.
Also, the hinges on the back don’t look like they’ll hold all that long, which means this will be in loose pieces everywhere. (See the photo).
I think the educational idea is good, but needs a little more work on this particular product. I would possibly buy this brand again because it is good quality. However, I probably wouldn’t recommend this item to anyone. (I think the traditional colored shaped blocks with the box that has matching holes works better educationally, is less messy, and sturdier).
The only thing thing I like about this toddler toy is the bottom of each egg has a shape that must be placed in the correct location for the egg to fit in the carton (it encourages shape sorting).
Additionally, the egg carton snaps shut (and it's compact) which is nice for storage.
Overall, I was really disappointed in this purchase and would have returned it if it was eligible for a free return. Although I bought it on a lightening deal (paid a little over $11), I feel that is was greatly overpriced and I would not recommend this toy. I'm truly amazed at the overall favorable rating of this toy (over 2500 reviews w/ 4.5 rating - I suspect most are fake).
The only drawback was that on ours the back hinge broke after opening and closing it a hundred or more times. Duct tape worked for repair, but I wish it had held together for the life of the toy.
Edit: less than a month later somehow my 2 year old lodged a golf ball into one of the egg tops and I can not for the life of me get it out. So beware lol! Added pic.

Very colourful and engaging. Each egg has a different facial expression and different coloured chick inside.
Develops fine motor skills. The eggshells fit neatly on top of each chick, the chicks fit into their own space, and the carton closes and locks with a little catch. Each egg has a different shape on the bottom which slots into the corresponding shape in the egg carton.
The chicks 'chirp' when pressed. This is a nice little addition to an otherwise excellent toy.
The chicks 'chirp' when pressed down, but it's tricky for little ones to make the sound come out. It takes a solid and rapid press for the noise to be made so some younger children won't be able to do it.
There is a hole and a screw at the bottom of each egg right in the middle of the shape. This is distracting for little ones as they see a heart or a square with a hole cut out in the middle of it. This is a major design fault in my opinion because the shapes at the bottom of the eggs correspond with the shapes in the carton and the little one finds it difficult to identify the shape with a hole in it.
The catch on the carton is very tricky to open (even for myself!) My two-year-old can't open it herself, and so always brings it to me to open. This should be made slightly easier to open.
This is an excellent toy for the price. Even though there are a few drawbacks (which could be easily rectified by the manufacturer) it's certainly a worthwhile toy to have. We spend a long time playing with it sorting out the shapes, fitting the shells to the eggs and role playing with the chicks. I would buy this again and would certainly purchase it as a gift for a friend with a young child.
No usa pila
He loves to chew on them and he plays with both the eggs and the box. The egg shells seem a bit sharp for him to chew on and he has got a bit frustrated with them whilst he’s been teething, but he’s never hurt himself on them so I think they’re fine.
I’m not sure why he loves them... but he does! 🤷🏼♀️
Downside - you’ll have plastic eggs and eggshells sprayed across the living room floor every single day.
The squeak is more from friction so not really a squeak perse but every month milestone I buy my son a new toy, I bought him this for his 6 month milestone and he uses it frequently.
We also have one at nursery and the children in the toddlers and preschool use it for colour and shape matching for £7 it’s great, I mean what can you get for £7 these days?
I thought the case would be flimsy but it’s quite thick hardwearing plastic
