The sixth season of the No. 1 food show on cable, Bravo's Emmy® and James Beard Award-winning series returns as 17 new chef-testants take on Sin City to see if they have what it takes to become TOP CHEF.
Cookbook author, actress and host Padma Lakshmi returns to the kitchen this season alongside head judge Tom Colicchio, renowned culinary figure and chef/owner of Craft Restaurants, and judges Gail Simmons of Food & Wine magazine, and Toby Young, food critic and best-selling author of the book How to Lose Friends and Alienate People.
Featuring some of the most intense challenges yet; top names in food, movies and entertainment including Wolfgang Puck, Todd English, Natalie Portman, Daniel Boulud, Penn & Teller, Hubert Keller, and others; extended episodes and a buffet of never-aired bonus footage, TOP CHEF LAS VEGAS is mouth-wateringly sinful on DVD.

This season is definitely a must have for it is the season that earned the show its Emmy. Padma Lakshmi is the perfect hostess as always and head judge Tom Colicchio and judges Gail Simmons of Food and Wine and Toby Young are back with 17 new contestants. Each episode is amazing. There is a quickfire challenge which leads to the elimination challenge and all are creative and display the chefs at their cuilinary best or struggling at their problematic worst. Las Vegas works very well with this show and what I love is you don't need to be a professional chef or know all culinary terms to be interested in this show. I love food and am fully enthralled in the personalities involved but moreso with the skills these chefs possess and can't wait to see what dishes they will come up with. This season we have two brothers as contestants which adds a definite twist. Also the ante really is upped with the creativity of the elimination challenges. The mix of personalities and skills of the chefs is also very well done. Judging is done honestly and fairly and judge's table is a definite show highlight.Read more ›
Just wanted to share the info, since it drives me crazy when people negatively rate a digital product because they had problems downloading it - that's not the author or the actors fault, why penalize the work for it?!
Last season was fantastic! It was like a competitive party game with the fun personalities of Fabio, Stefan and Carla. Great chemistry there. But this season is a bit more intense - and I think a lot of fans enjoy this just as much. There are some really big names thrown into this season - Thomas Keller (French Laundry, etc.) for one. Congrats Top Chef for pulling that off! Daniel Boulud made another appearance (always appreciated because he is Daniel Boulud). Nigella Lawson did a first-time stint as a judge. She looked somewhat lost, but I'll chalk it off to jetlag, plus the fact that she had to shoot a scene in bed for a breakfast in bed quickfire. And for entertainment, Natalie Portman hosted a dinner.
I'm glad that Padma is still the lovely host of the show - she really adds sparkle. Love the stunning fashion element she brings. Toby is back - less ascerbic, a bit more subdued - but definitely welcome. I used to like Tom Colicchio, but it seems he has withdrawn over the last several seasons. It reads as smugness, but maybe it's something else - can't figure it out. But there's plenty happening to keep us entertained and glued to the competition.
Great job Top Chef! Seasons 5 and 6 deserve top marks for fun and intensity. Don't be confused if people are a bit more quiet in their reviews - they're just busy happily watching the show.
I love Top Chef and hope for more seasons like this as opposed to the mediocre "Texas" season.
