With one exception this has done very well. I have only tested it with the enclosed software. But in the middle of the recording the device suddenly gave me a "This recording is copy protected" message. There is a software fix posted on the website for this, but as of yet I have not been able to get it to work. My understanding is that it will also work with some other video importing software as will. I will be trying it out.

Originally I bought the top-longer full usb docking station so that my mouse, keyboard, and monitor could switch between a desktop and laptop easily. However, the monitor connection stopped working not long after buying that product, and after some trial and mostly error I couldn't resolve the issue on my own and so reached out to the seller. The return period for my original purchase had passed so I suppose they didn't really have to do anything to help me, but they sent me this device to see if it would help with my situation. It was very easy to install (just plug it in on a windows machine, I haven't tried it out with my mac laptop yet), and immediately resolved my issue. My only complaint is now I have this device in addition to my docking station to sit on my desk. It's not too big though and in this case I'll definitely take function over form.

Plug and Play with Windows 10

I plugged it in, and expected to have to monkey around with it for a while to get my different peripherals to work. Instead, everything just worked. I have a 16-port USB 3.0 hub that I also plugged into it, a midi controller, a mouse jiggler, a barcode scanner, an additional USB 3 to VGA monitor adapter, and all sorts of other crazy stuff my life requires, and it gobbled it up without a hiccup. The only thing I had to mess with, was adding this device's MAC address to my firewall as it doesn't pass the MAC from your computer through, it does have it's own MAC address (but it does forward the IP? It works, so I'm not going to try to figure it out). But I have ridiculously high security on my network, far more than what any reasonable human would ever want or need to manage, so this absolutely shouldn't be a problem for almost anyone else. Certainly not enough to dock a star. It also came with a driver disc, and a DVI to VGA converter if you have old school monitors. I highly recommend this item if you need a docking station, it was super easy to use, I literally just had to plug it in. Currently used with a Lenovo Thinkpad and an ASUS 7260HMW laptop.

Works the way it's designed to work--2 full size monitors with a 15" MacBook Pro. I would give 5 stars except for one missing line in the Mac set up instructions.
Follow the instructions and you'll get both monitors to light up. But the main monitor defaults to the 2nd screen. You're told this will happen. So you move the Display
screen icons to change the set up. But the main monitor stays stuck on the 2nd screen. Here's what's missing in the instructions and what you need to know:
click, hold and drag the little white bar at the top of the icon screen and pull it from the right screen to the left screen and your main monitor returns to the correct position.
I give high marks to the company's tech support for getting back to me--almost instantly--when I described the problem. Now, if they'd point that out in the Mac instructions
that come with the product, I wouldn't need tech support and I'd offer a 5 stars plus review. Other than that, excellent product. I'm delighted to have 2 full size screens with my MacBook Pro,

I purchased this item with the expectation I would add a third monitor to my work station. Unfortunately, I ran into severe issues when running this on my Dell Latitude 3440 on any resolution (USB2.0/Windows7). It was glitchy and would not allow me to maximize any program/window. This of course could be due to the equipment I was using, not so much the hardware. I was due for a OS update and now running Windows 10 and it works PERFECTLY! It's super responsive, does not consume a lot of CPU processing power and works like advertised. I would recommend this to anyone that is using windows 10. I gave it 5 stars because it is working like I expected at any resolution.
