That said, there were a couple of issues I had. The first was the lack of a real connection between Luke and Keaton. I just never felt like they GOT each other, or that they were falling for each other in a way that went beyond sex. Luke never opened up to Keaton enough for the emotional side of the relationship to be real.
Another reason I found it hard to really get into the book is that it felt like a repetition of some of Bowen's Ivy Years books but in a M/M context: townie with family problems falls for rich kid at elite college. I also don't find fraternity culture appealing. I have had this issue with some of Bowen's other books... in some of her Ivy Year hockey books, the characters come awfully close to feeling like frat boys. I do get the appeal of athletic men, but I prefer them to be intellectual and interesting... not over-privileged beer-ponging adolescents who sit on the sofa playing video games. Now in this story Keaton is supposed to be more interesting than your standard fraternity bro: he's a secret science geek with a big heart. But at the same time it's just really hard to relate to a dude with a huge trust fund who is willing to join a frat in the first place. I know, I know-- we're supposed to get a sense of his generosity of spirit when he comes out to his bros to defend Luke, but it just felt flat.
Finally: the setting throwing Luke and Keaton together felt contrived. Elite universities offer financial aid. So if Luke's family is that poor he surely would qualify for financial aid for room and board, independent of his "townie scholarship". And he wouldn't have to join a frat (which given his background doesn't really seem like something he'd be into). Also: Don't fraternity members have to pay dues? So how is staying in the cheapest room at the frat really the best deal for Luke? Details like this bugged me.
Keaton is in college, he is a member of the Alpha Delta fraternity and the football team. His girlfriend since junior year of high school is still by his side, and he has a trust fund most people would kill for, what more could he ask for? Luke is the complete opposite of Keaton. Where Keaton is popular and involved Luke is distant and keeps people at arm’s length. The only thing the two have in common is that they both want to be their fraternity’s next President.
When Keaton’s girlfriend suggests something to spice up their relationship he is hesitant at first, but agrees because he gives her what she wants! So he downloads a dating app, and from there matches with someone who is down to help them out. As the two get to know each other, it becomes clear that there may be a connection between them that is hard to ignore. When the night comes for things to go down, everything comes to a head, the two who thought they didn’t like each other are now caught up together. The question remains, can the two make it work or are they destined to just be frat brothers?
I have read every book that Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen have written together and this book was just as amazing as the others. These two have a way of bringing characters to life and creating story lines that you didn’t see coming. They bring you funny moments and moments that break your heart. There were times when I wanted to reach through the book and smack them both, but then Sarina and Elle would write a scene that had me back in love. The chemistry as well as the characters banter is out of this world. I don’t think 5 stars is enough for the amount of love I have for this book!!
Uh...I love these authors but this book isn't my favorite. I hate how it ended. I needed more togetherness. I felt like the angst was really high in this book and the resolution took FOREVER!
On a positive note- this is the best quote ever and really defines this book. " If letting your fraternity brother touch your cock is wrong, then I don’t want to be right."
Overall, a solid effort but it isn't in the same realm as HIM/US.

It starts with Keaton a rich popular jock who lives in Alpha Delt whose girlfriend wants to spice up there sex life with a threesome for her 21st birthday pressant,so asks Keaton to look into getting another male to join them on her special night. This is new for them both so he joins a app called kinky for hookups, this opens his eyes to a totally new world where he meets SinnerThree.
Luke is on a scholarship to Derby college who doesn't come from a rich background so has to work hard to afford his rent and food from month to month. His plan is to win the race for the president of Alpha Delt the frat house where he is living as the winner gets free rent for the year.Luke is not confused about who he is and what he likes as he is bi so likes both men and women so uses the hookup ap kinky with his user name being SinnerThree.
Keaton uses the name LobsterShorts for his hookup name to find a third for his girlfriend and there up and coming threesome, and starts messaging SinnerThree little knowing who he is as they don't use there real indentities ,this is where it gets funny with all the back and forwards sexting as they both start to like the other guy and it starts to get more and more sexy the more they sexting each other.I don't really want to get into the plot you will have to read it for yourself.
Luke and Keaton's journey is complicated and doesn't run smoothly at all, there is no cheating in this story, just thought i would put this out there if you was wondering. You will get to see a connection start to form between this couple and you wouldn't of put them together at first but i did love this couple when they got there act together, and the hot and steamy scenes between them was mind blowing
This story was full of angst, heat and hilarious sexting but also with lots of drama,The ending was just swoon worthy i loved it,love always wins in the end.Totally love this book.Five Huge Lobster Stars.
Keaton Hayward III is third generation Apha Delta, his father (the CEO of a bif pharmaceutical company) and grandfather were both Presidents of the fraternity and he is aiming to do the same. When his sweet, but vanilla high school girlfriend says she wants a three-way for her twenty-first birthday present Keaton is surprised but happy to go along. He signs them up (anonymously) to a hook-up site called Kink and starts vetting potential matches for his gf's big surprise.
When Keaton and Luke start messaging on the app as LobsterShorts and SinnerThree things start off business-like with Luke testing whether Keaton is really happy with the ramifications of his gf's choices, but soon Keaton is sharing his geeky facts about mating in the animal kingdom and the two of them are developing a relationship.
What can I say, two of my favourite authors. I've noticed a theme in their college novels which tend to start off really raunchy and factor 100 on the phoar scale but become sweeter as the characters develop their relationship. This is definitely a rich-guy/poor-guy romance, it's about reaching for what you really want and standing up for yourself and what's right. It's 100% Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy sweet, sexy, articulate, romantic, funny love conquers all.
It was pretty cliched and formulaic of first time gay at college, frats and rich boy from overbearing family vs. poor boy and silly misunderstandings that talking would have resolved. I didn’t like the way a lot of things seemed to happen off page and I really struggled to connect to both of the MCs.
The first couple of chapters were good but from there it really went downhill and I would class some of the things that happened as cheating. Whether online or in person.
I don’t think I will be keeping these authors as a one click anymore.
Keaton Hayworth III or “Mr Jockface” if you ask Luke Bailey, is the well liked, well bred jock that is his serious contender in the vote for frat president. They are opposites in almost every way. Keaton was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and quite literally has everything served on a platter to him. In Luke’s eyes everything appears to comes way too easy, and their race for frat presidency has created a somewhat rivalry between them.
There is of course the small matter, unbeknownst to the both of them, of the rendezvous they are arranging over the hookup app, Kink. Luke is self assured in his sexuality but for Keaton it’s an awakening of sorts.
Keaton is under no illusions he lives a charmed life. His father is CEO of a pharmaceutical company and he has a job waiting for him after he graduates. Although he does not have financial struggles, he has come to a crossroads in the struggle over his identity. The life laid out in front of him takes a turn Luke Bailey enters it. What he took for hostility towards Luke soon becomes admiration when Luke is forced to ask him for help.
The messages over Kink brought humour, intimacy, and stoked the simmering passion between them, but it’s not until they discover who the other really is that we are treated to the wonder and vulnerability of their budding relationship.
Sarina & Elle can always be counted on when it comes to the “unputdownable” factor, and whatever that secret may be, TOP SECRET definitely has oodles of it.
There were plenty of sexy times in this story, Keat discovered he had a submissive kink too and Luke?? Well, he discovered that he loved listening to Keat twittering on about sexy facts of nature and his proposed trip to Chile to find an undiscovered whale...Now, if I can just find an actual URL where I can download the epilogue for this story, I'll be a really happy bunny...😁 [PS...the epilogue is available by signing up to Sarina/Elle's website].
I absolutely demolished this story not wanting to put the book down at all when reading... I was hooked... I was in love.. I was so invested in this story I wanted to ignore life and read without moving!
So we have LobsterShorts.. or Keaton who is a loveable frat boy... living life the way his dad wants him too.. scared to tell the truth on what he really wants for his future...
Then we have SinnerThree.. ie Luke.
Who is just as loveable.. hard working..and struggling to live one day to the next but never giving up.... hes come from nothing and wants the world.
The they complete opposites.. they actually don't get on in real life but what happens when they accidentally match on an app??
They give us hilarity.. loving times...swoon worthy moments and pages of heartache and heart warning words!
Love everything these authors give us!
It portrayed an intense relationship between two males from different socio-economic backgrounds; within a education setting. They hated each other at first and there was obvious animosity. But their anonymous online communications threw up surprises and eventually sparked flames that they could not put out. They definitely had friends who accept them, people who rejected their relationship and family who were for and against them.
Their story has moments of doubts, angst, secrets and revelations. But is there a happy ending? Are hearts and dreams fulfilled? Well you will have to get this book and find out for yourself.
Seriously though its a great book, the emotions are believable; heartfelt but not over the top. This is not one of those books that is hard emotional work to read. The sex scenes are hot, the emotions are within sane levels and the characters are fleshed out (snort) and relatable.
I enjoyed the first m/m book these authors wrote together - but this is just pure book joy. I can't stop grinning as I'm reading.
(All this is, of course, dependant on things not taking a weird and bleak turn in the final 39% of the book.. I shall report back)
Keaton (or K3) is a trust fund boy and has been given a request from his girlfriend as to what she would like for her birthday. So he is on a quest to fulfil her dreams.
What happens when they ‘talk’?
Sarina and Elle have done it again with an unputdownable read!
I can't begin to tell you how much I LOVE this book. Sarina and Elle are definitely a killer team. If you like romance then this book is a must read.
Yet, I did find it a little hard to get into. But once I was hooked, I was really hooked and from that point on I did find it extremely hard to put down. And therefore I would happily recommend it to others.
It was amazing, frenemies to lovers. A bit of heartbreak (no stomping on my heart as I feared, but enough to give me lots of feels), full of love and a good few laugh.
Lovely read and I can't wait for more
I really want another book with these characters. I just love them.
Read it. You will not be sorry.
