One thing I'm starting to really love about this author is her ability to give stories that aren't the traditional. While the plots sound standard, the details and storyline aren't. With the thorough details on the fashion world, it's evident she is very familiar with the subject so for someone like me that doesn't pay any attention, it was easy to follow. With the way the author has interwoven it with the storyline.
Jasper is afraid to get close and love. His Talent is a god and once they love they die and come back in a different body. The heroine is a firebird and shes amazing . Jasper sends her on a mission to try to find where they are developing drugs to Kill of all the Talents with experiments. They do find it and the story runs fantastically fast and smooth. Jasper is almost dead . he gets accentually shot so the prophesy is dead on. His love decides to turn him to a firebird and Cristos helps her . Grab it and see who is developing the drugs. how they discovered it
Since the blurb says quite a bit, no need to write useless things. I loved the setting: the Paris Fashion Week and that the characters are involved in the fashion world; it’s quite unusual and very fitting with the sexual goings-on. And it’s obvious that the author knows what she’s talking about; it feels authentic. Svetlana being a shape-shifting firebird is a lovely touch indeed! I love how the author integrates the paranormal elements with the world of high fashion. And there’s a great suspense story as well! Ms. Connolly writes beautifully; everything flows easily, and the sex scenes are beyond hot! An excellent read!
A copy of this book was made available to me from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This is a paranormal story set in the world of fashion. The two main characters, Svetlana (the model) and Jasper (the designer), are also undercover agents in a paranormal agency. Let me start off by saying that fashion and the fashion industry are not my normal cup of tea, but I love paranormal books and I'm a fan of Lynne Connolly so I decided to try it.
The book starts at the end of a fashion show, right away we are introduced to the paranormal piece while in Jasper's POV. We're also shown the beginning of the plot, the attraction of the two main characters and the fact that someone has found a way to kill of supernaturals, referred to as Talents.
With the way the author has interwoven it with the storyline, its not an irritant for someone that normally doesn't read anything about fashion. Instead it becomes the backdrop of the story. Some of the thoughts/spoken words were a little much, but other than that, it was a great story. I look forward to reading more from this author.
