Problems with moving my Wrist. I'm a big dude whose trying to get into archery I recently did a ton a research bought a HYF takedown recurve bow package and knowing what I know I saught this item out to reduce injuries to self that may occour if at all possible. I do think the pros are that it will protect me for the intended pourpose but i was under the impression that my wrist was supposed to be able to move. For it being new it feels like I am putting my arm in a splint. Which isn't bad for a broken front arm but its bad for being able to use my hand and ware it casualy as I intended to do. Chances are I'm gonna have to use paracord for the protector and hope it'll ware properly. Idk we'll see. I should of only had to do minor adjustments.

This is how my item arrived (photo attached). It is obvious that one of the turquoise studs was on it at one point, but came off. I did not find it in the bag. This would be a great item for small adults or teens, but it is far too small to be advertised for adult men. I am an average sized 5'10" 210 pound man. I noticed Chinese characters on the item sticker, which makes sense as to why it is so small. The fingers of the hand guard are small enough that it cuts off the circulation to my index finger when I grip. As many have pointed out, the arm guard does not enclose the forearm, and the wrist is in no way able to flex or move. The lace will ware and break fairly quickly as well, as the eyelets are edged. This would be a good LARPing item, but not practical. I'm just going to have to shell out the extra money for a proper arm guard. Although I am disappointed, this product is way too inexpensive to be of very good quality. I question whether this is a "sweat shop" product. Buyer beware.

I ordered this as a gift for a friend who is interested in learning about archery. I am no expert in archery, but I do know that the bowstring can scrape the inside of your forearm if you don't hold the bow exactly right or get a little careless. Not wanting my friend to sustain this injury as he is learning how to shoot a traditional bow, I ordered this for him as a gift. When it came to my house, I opened the box to make sure it was something nice enough to give as a gift. The protector is made of heavy two-tone leather with riveted eyelets and heavy buckles and laces. I was impressed with the heft of it, as well as with the overall quality of its construction. It looks just like the picture. Additionally, it also includes the finger protector for the right hand, which prevents the bowstring from cutting into your fingers when you draw it back all of the way. Both the arm protector and the finger protector have decorative metal buttons as well. It occurred to me that this product would also make an excellent costume accessory. I bought it for the safety it provides an archer. I am confident this will last a long time and provide many years of safety to its recipient. As an added bonus, it looks pretty cool. I'm sure my friend will appreciate having this. Anyone who has ever had a layer of skin removed from the inside of his or her forearm while shooting a bow would also appreciate having one of these, too. One can never be too safe, or too stylish.

When it first arrived, I loved it so much it looks just like the pic, but then when I put it on I had to open up the laces to put it on no problem, when I went to tighten it on my arm one of the brackets broke off really easy. Then when it was off my arm I notice it had dyed my arm slightly, lucky it washed off, but the one thing that is making me regret this purchase is it stinks so bad I have to keep it out side the smell of chemicals on it is horrible it smelled up my whole room it was in, I have kept it outdoors for a week and a half and it still smells bad, I'm going to keep it outdoors longer to hopefully get rid of the smell completely, if you want to buy it for the looks it's nice but I recommend keeping it outside for a while and be gentle on the brackets. Also the hand strap I got with it is left hand only.
