Even the characterization isn't right throughout most of the book, and I feel the author really missed out on the fun relationship between Jack and Ianto by changing the latter into a woman. Was Gloss afraid of portraying a gay relationship? This is definitely my least favorite "Torchwood" book, and I cross my fingers Gloss learned from his mistakes in this book considering there's two more novels he's written for this series.
And while this isn't so much as a review for the book itself, I missed the dynamic of Owen and Tosh being active. This is definately something that should have happened while Owen was around.
Essentially: Well written, but a few loose ends should have been tidied up and/or stated more clearly.
For all the Janto fans: while there were glimpses of the couple there wasn't as much as you'd think.
Loved the very last scene. Anybody who is a fan of Torchwood will read this. Oh yes, it is a tad heavy on the gay but not so much as to take away from the plot. There are no lectures or messages, it is just in there, as it should be. Enjoy!
