I bought this jack for my son for working on his truck after I saw him jury rigging a smaller jack. He started using the jack as soon as he got home. It lifts the truck up high enough to get the big tires he has off the ground. Now all his friends come over so they can use the jack. It lifts the truck with no problem at all. Last weekend he replaced the rear passenger strut on my Impala. It jacked the car up high enough so that it was no problem getting at the strut. I would highly recommend this jack for anyone with a truck.

Well, as with anything you get what you pay for. This is no OTC jack but you can't get an OTC jack for $100 either. I haven't really put it to much use yet, but after I expelled the air (instructions included) it did pump up to the advertised height. I wish the owner's manual hadn't been glued to the lift arm of the jack because removing it tore up the outside page pretty good. As with most Chinese jacks when you have the handle in the horizontal or near horizontal position turning the handle to open or close the valve is not smooth. No import jack using the "spoke" technology to engage handle and valve I've seen can seem to get this right. How DO those Americans do it????? Well, for $100. this jack is the best you're gonna get: Well painted, a book (minus the page that's glued to the jack)that does actually say things you can understand, wheels that turn, decent lift height, removable saddle. So, plenty of jack for the weekend hobbyist and the money, probably not a front line lifting tool for the commercial shop.

UPDATE: 12/2014. I've now used this probably 75 times in the last 2-1/2 years, still working as good as ever. I see the price has gone up $20. Oh, and I forgot this the 1st time: I was pleasantly surprised that for my $99.00 shipping was included. This jack weighs a bit.

This is all you will need if you have a 1500 truck to work on in your own garage. Love the rear metel casters and two piece thick walled handle for storage or if you need a quick cheater pipe. Hate that it's made in China, but so is everything else.

I've owned this jack now for 10 years, using it regularly for maintenance and repair of my own cars/trucks. It gets low enough to slip under every Honda/Nissan/Subaru I've owned, and jacks high enough to suit the majority of needs for a 1/2Ton pickup. This jack has never left me down (pun intended). After ten years though it is starting to show a little age. The jack will (over a period of 15-20minutes) drift down under load, but then again I've never checked the fluid level. The release has become hard to release if you're not careful, but I've learned to not tighten it as much before jacking and it's fine. The wheels are rusted and the paint is flaking, but I've never been overly careful with fluids (especially brake fluid) coming into contact. Very happy overall with this jack.

My only big annoyance comes with the removable handle - when pulling the jack across the garage sometimes the handle becomes disengaged from the valve mechanism at the jack body, requiring some fiddling to get it back in. I've also since added a threaded bolt to keep the two halves of the handle securely together.

To be honest I came to amazon to shop around for a new jack, but after reading reviews here and elsewhere, I decided to just invest a little time and effort and clean mine up. Tightened the casters after adding some fresh grease to bearings, oiled everything up, and it works like new now. Still need to top off the fluid but I suspect this will help with the drifting.

Does this jack lift? Yes. Most of the lift stroke however is in the top of the handle, so if it's under a truck and you have to do low bottom end strokes it won't lift. It also has a lowering valve that is either on or off. Period. There is no such thing as a controlled slow descent with this jack. Makes it dangerous to use IMO. You turn the handle slowly maybe a 1/4 turn if that then you feel resistance so you ease it past that and then the valve is open and the jack and load come down full speed. I went and bought a 4K jack at harbor freight that is larger, wider, heavier duty, more stable, and importantly has a nice slow valve so you can control your lowering speeds and lifts loads at any angle of the handle for 30$ cheaper than this unit. I would not recommend this jack!

The jack came without oil. Had to purchase oil and fill the jack. I should have check around. There were better prices for the same jack at various locations for a cheaper price. Not very impressed with the product the the quality check.

My Jack arrived in great shape, with only a small tear in the box. This jack is much better than I expected. It is extremly well made and heavy duty. I still am amazed Amazon can ship the jack for free. I looked at other sites that had the jack for about the same price or a bit less, but shipping was between 50 and 60 dollars. I am really pleased with the jack and the service I got at Amazon.

I purchased this exact model from an auto parts store years ago when my trusty Craftsman 2 ton that I had used for 20 years suddenly quit in the middle of an important job. I never would have gone for one of these cheapie Chinese made ones, but I needed a jack ASAP. I was surprised to find a very sturdy, decently painted jack that has served flawlessly ever since. There is a LOT of metal in this jack. Its very, very heavy. The handle is steel as well. It lifts and stays without fail every time, even through jobs that take days to finish.

Based on that experience, when I needed an additional jack it seemed like a natural thing to order another one of the same, so I did. The jack arrived today in packaging that had burst open. Its not packed well enough, as other commenters have indicated. But what killed the deal for me was the chassis is warped so only three wheels touch the floor. Are they selling factory seconds online? IDK, but I sent for a replacement. If the second one arrives in this state I'll give up on Amazon for this, drive to the store, and buy one I can inspect. I'll update this when the second one gets here. It's very easy to return, just put it back on the porch and click through a simple thing on Amazon.

If you get one that's not damaged, the quality meets or exceeds what's needed for occasional consumer level use.

EDIT: Replacement jack arrived in two days, via FedEx. This time the box looked relatively intact and the jack was in good shape. So thats three of these jacks I've seen now, two I have and one I rejected; and on each one, the instruction manual appears to have been tossed in on top of the jack before the paint was fully dry... all 3 jacks had the manual stuck to the top of the jack to some degree resulting in blemishes in the black paint.
