T-3 Sharpening System
Ideal for sharpening woodworking hand tools, knives, and scissors.

Wet Grinding Increases Tool Life
The slow-speed, wet grindstone of the Tormek T-7 uses less friction than a dry grinder and won't remove as much material from the tool during sharpening, giving you a sharp, clean result and a longer-lasting edge. Unlike with dry grinding, you won't have to worry about burr build-up, overheating, or the need for frequent sharpening.

Purpose-Designed Jigs for Perfect Control
With 11 jigs available for most types of wood-working tools, knives, and industrial tools, the Tormek T-7 maintains the precise edge and angle for each specific tool. It removes only a fraction of the steel, and the jigs guide your tools for accurate and efficient control of the shape and edge angle.

The Tormek T-7 comes with a square-edge jig for chisels and plane blades, and there are additional jigs available for knives, scissors, axes, gouges, and more.

SE-76 Square Edge Jig
Aligns a wood chisel automatically parallel to the Universal Support.

Adjustment-Free Jig Aligns Squarely
The included SE-76 Square Edge Jig is ideal for quickly clamping and holding chisels, plane irons, and even short and tapered chisels (like Japanese chisels) for accurate sharpening. Conventional jigs require that you align the tool in the jig with two mounting screws, a time-consuming process that results in loss of accuracy. The new Tormek Square Edge jig solves this problem by squarely lining up the chisel at 90 degrees each time--without any adjustments. This is achieved because the jig automatically aligns the chisel to its flat, machined face.

The SE-76 jig can handle blades up to 76 millimeters or 3 inches in width, and it includes safety stops, which prevent tools from slipping off the stone.

Universal Support
The Universal Support incorporates a micro adjust for fine setting.

Universal Support Makes Sharpening Easy
The Universal Support mounts vertically or horizontally to the base of the Tormek T-7. Simply raise and lower the Universal Support with the help of the AngleMaster to achieve the desired sharpening angle, or mount it horizontally for honing away from the edge. Honing on the leather honing wheel can be performed with or without the SE-76 jig and with the Universal Support as a tool rest.

Angle Master
Grinds your tool to any desired edge angle from 10° to 75°. View larger.
Angle Master Achieves the Exact Angle Every Time
Regardless of wear and tear on the grindstone, the included AngleMaster will help you achieve the exact angle you need every time. With a range of 10 to 75 degrees, the AngleMaster allows you to set the angle of the jig to the grindstone, and it can also measure the existing edge angle of a tool. For further convenience, magnets keep the AngleMaster securely in place.

Stone Grader
The stone grinds very effectively and gives a fine finish to the tool. View larger.
Stone Grader Adds Versatility for Sharpening and Polishing
The Tormek T-7 Original Grindstone can be dressed to 220 grit or 1,000 grit for versatility. The stone comes with a 220-grit surface, and the included Stone Grader allows you to quickly and easily change the surface to 1,000 grit for fine polishing. Since you won't have to change the jig or the stone, the Stone Grader allows you to perform both efficient steel removal and a fine finish with one stone.

Large Wheel, Powerful Motor, and E-Z Lock Shaft
The Tormek T-7 uses a 10-inch by 2-inch stone wheel, giving you a wide and durable surface for sharpening. The powerful, heavy-duty motor turns the wheel at 90 rpm and can be run continually. For further convenience, the T-7's stainless steel shaft with E-Z Lock feature means you can remove the grindstone without tools.

Truing and Dressing Tool
With TT-50, you can true and dress your grindstone round and flat.

Truing and Dressing Tool for a Perfectly Sharpened Edge
Using a cluster of diamonds to smooth the surface of the stone, the included Truing and Dressing Tool with screw feed can restore a worn stone to an even surface. It mounts and locks instantly on the Universal Support, ensuring that the stone surface is always parallel to the tool fitted in the jig. This enables you to keep the stone in perfect condition, which is essential for a perfectly sharpened edge.

Clean and Safe Sharpening
The T-7's advanced water trough comes with an enlarged standard lip for maximum water collection. It also includes an embedded magnet to collect steel particles and a removable water chute for long tools. Because steel particles are deposited into the water trough and wet-grinding doesn't create grinding dust, there is no need to worry about air pollutants. The low speed also eliminates sparks and allows the operator to have complete control of the tool.

The Tormek T-7 Water-Cooled Sharpening System is backed by a manufacturer's seven-year limited warranty, which includes commercial use.

I've been using the Tormek T7 for a full year now, and I can honestly affirm that the Tormek T7 is an absolute Godsend of a sharpening machine. Over the years I have literally spent thousands of dollars on other sharpening systems, and the Tormek T7 is a shining star above all other products I've purchased. This little sharpening machine is darn near foolproof once you've used it a few times & get a rhythm going in your head. The booklet & DVD that comes with the unit are pretty straight forward with giving you the mechanics of how to sharpen your tools & knives, but Tormek needs to refine those two items for people who are looking for an advanced method of obtaining superior results that will result in tools & knives obtaining a finer edge & how to maintain that fine edge, specifically by using a double edge sharpening method. The Tormek T7 is more capable than even Tormek advertises, but I had to learn the methods by trial & error because the booklet & DVD are so basic in their sharpening instruction methodology. If you decide to purchase a T7 I would highly recommend that you also purchase a superfine grit Japanese waterstone, especially if you sharpen thin blade tools such as scrapers and knives. Having to constantly regrade the single 200 grit stone that comes with the T7, using the Tormek Stone Grader, is a total pain in the youknowhat. You can change out the grinding wheel in the same amount of time as it takes to regrade the Tormek 200 grit stone, and your results will be far superior compared to using the Tormek stone. When it's time for me to sharpen tools I put the Japanese waterstone in a bucket of water so that it's ready to use when I change out the Tormek 200 grit sharpening wheel to the Japanese waterstone.

Simply amazing. I own the T-7 as well as the long and short knife jigs. I use it primarily for sharpening chisels and plane blades, but also use it to sharpen my kitchen knives.

Yes, it is expensive, but I believe it is worth every penny. Economically at the rate at which I use my chisels and plane irons, I would have the machine paid off in about 2 to 3 years compared to a commercial sharpening service. Admittedly I also own several high quality waterstones, but I find it's significantly easier to use the T-7 and to achieve a sharper endstate making it more likely that I keep my blades sharp. Then, there is the simple joy of having razor sharp tools that cut cleanly and with minimal effort. From a safety perspective, having sharp tools increases your control.

The machine works well and is built like it should last forever. I recall a recent Fine WoodWorking article where they rebuilt their shop Tormek after several years of daily hard use. With the exception of the grinding wheel itself which is a normal wear item, the items FWW replaced have since been upgraded on the T-7 to stainless steel to eliminate rust.

I expect that my son will be pleased to inherit it one day far (I hope) in the future. I believe it will also give him a lifetime of service (he's currently 3)!

Update: June 2016: Still very positive about product, family members bring their knives over for sharpening. Jeweler loupe necessary to see angle on blade, still using the magic marker technique to match existing angle. Still very little wear on the Japanese water stone. had to wrap teflon tape around the adjustment threads of the knife holders as I was wearing out the plastic adjustment threads. Would purchase again, We catch alot of fish, walleye, constantly sharpening fillet knives and deboning knives when we butcher our deer.

Been using this now for three years. I sharpen mostly knives, all kinds: fillet, boning, kitchen, butcher, carving, paring. It has paid for itself in re-sharpening knives, particularly the fillet knives. I use the Japanese water stone for sharpening most of the time unless there are bad nicks then I use the standard stone as it takes off the metal quicker. I set the sharpening angle of the blade by first marking the blade with a magic marker then I rest it against the wheel and hand turn the wheel and inspect the blade to see if the sharpening angle matches that of the blade. I picked up a jeweler's loupe (magnifying glass-10X)so I could see the edge of the knife better.

This made a big difference in seeing what angle and how sharp the blade was. If angle is off, I move the holder in or out depending on the angle.

I also picked up the quick change axle, this helps when want to switch back to the regular stone. Also after using the stone 3 years, it is basically same diameter, it does wear but very little.

Save your money on all those systems, sharpening stones, files you see at the hardware store or WM, you will not need another system.

Very good quality. Planer blade and wood chisel jig easy to use and tools are razor sharp at the correct angle. Scissors jig also easy to use. Knife jig more difficult to use and will take some practice to get beyond a good edge to an ideal edge. Truing and dressing tool makes it a snap to keep the wheel flat. Overall a very nice tool, albeit a little expensive.
