Another wonderful addition to this special series, this time set in Toronto.
All Caitlyn wanted was to get a job and be a little independent! Not marry the man her mother had picked out for her. She had landed a job as a telephone operator for Mr Connor Dalton who ran Dalton Industries and she was overjoyed to be a working woman. That is except she found "that he was the most handsome man she had ever laid her eyes on." She just did not want to fall in love with him.
She had known Conner since she was younger but after he did some traveling, he came back and changed a lot..
Connor could not get over Caitlyn. He knew he made her mother mad when he hired her, but she had become beneficial to his business. He thought a lot about her, but he was determined to get ahead and did not have time to be tied down to a wife and children.
I adored this story and Caitlyn's enthusiasm and her dreams. Their journey took a while, but it was always meant to be and I could not read fast enough to see what would happen!
Another great story by Wendy May Andrews, who never fails to pull me in and not let go until the end!

Caitlyn wants adventure and finding a job is a part of it. Connor needs help so he hires his best friend’s sister. Caitlyn is happy with her job but not so happy with the attraction she feels for her boss. And having Caitlyn work for him is helpful but also a distraction. Are they meant to be together or will a misunderstanding end their friendship?
Really entertaining story, not just the romance but the new technology for that time. Again a great story in this series.

Breaking barriers in a new era

Set in Toronto on the cusp of a new and exciting era, Caitlyn has always sought out adventure and when the opportunity presents itself to work as a telephonist for her brother's best friend, she jumps at the opportunity. Despite their mutual attraction, both Caitlyn and Connor Dalton maintain a formal attitude towards one another, but when it would appear that Caitlyn may be consorting with the competition, Connor questions his decision about having a woman in the workplace. Mistrust and wounded feels abound until Connor comes to the realisation that the girl he has known his whole life, could just be the one for him, provided he can overcome the snobbish Mrs Doherty's reservations. This novel can be read in an evening and is an enjoyable sweet romance, that will appeal to most age groups. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Connor and Caitlyn had known each other as children for Conner was her older brother's best friend. Now, Conner was back in town running his own company. Caitlyn always wanted adventure and begged Conner for a job. She proved to be an exemplary employee until she was seen with one of his competitors and accused of espionage. Conner seemed to believe her and she kept her job until she asked one of her clerks the wrong questions. Leaving her job for good was painful. She loved the job and was pretty sure she was falling in love with Conner.
I really enjoyed Caitlyn's joyful nature, her bright mind and need for adventure. Even her respect for her interfering mother was apparent.
Conner was an ambitious man who has sworn to never be hungry again and has decided nothing would interfere with his desire to be richer than the children that made his life uncomfortable as a child.
This delightful story of friendship and future desires is so easy to get lost in. Come discover the path to love.

Delightfully Charming

Wendy May Andrews brings us a well written, delightful tale of a young woman of means, who rather than marry, wants a job and a bit of independence in the late 1800’s. This is a captivating story that keeps you interested to the last page.

I loved the dynamic between Caitlyn and Conner and I particularly enjoyed watching them find their place in the world and their way to one another.

Wendy’s characters were interesting, real and so likeable. The dialogue was good and realistic. Wendy’s imagery was well done and gave the reader a real sense of being there. The plot was intriguing and charming. The story was wonderfully satisfying and I look forward to reading the rest of the series. You will too!

Thank you so much Wendy for this delightful a charming love story. I’ll be looking forward to reading more of your stories.

I love this book about finding love with a childhood friend! It had an interesting plot a and good character's. Great job Wendy May Andrews. The story was about a young woman getting a job at a time when women didn't have job. She was able to learn about how a telephone worked for that was her job to answer the phone for the company. She fell in love with her boss and long time friend and even though he didn't want to he fell in love with her too. I recommend you read the book for there is more interesting things going on for you to find out.

This is a well written book that hooks you on the first page and doesn’t let go. It’s a wonderful addition to the Yours Truly: The Lovelorn series. This book was an absolute joy to read. All of the books in this series are stand alone’s and can be read in any order. I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who likes clean historical romances. I received an ARC copy of this book and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
