Editorial Reviews

Review

Iris Tocuyo Llovera always amazes us with her opportune creations, whether literary, the visual arts, theater, photography or any other area that awakens her innovative spirit. Tornillerías is a great example of it. Iris made a jump to erotic poetry and bristles us with her books: Arena, Tatuaje and Abrigo but equally dilates the experience as narrator in her next book of stories: Viaje Inverso. As well as before she has done a work of vanguard shown in monologues and installations at theater festivals and performances where it gave exposure of multiple creative vein. In Tornillerias we find a kind of silence hidden in the edges of the word that leads us to think, to reflect on the everyday, to the simple but also painful, ironic and irreverent things of human existence. Surely for some are simple acts and words, but not exempt from a particular commotion as a whole that shakes our eyes behind the scenes to show us the truth of life in a different world, different in a world of Tornillerias.

From the Author

Tornillerías predicts a series of small texts that differ perhaps from my poetic style, but arise from looking through a stylus as if it is cutting the language and producing an idea, which manifests itself in irony, grief, feelings that we experience at some point of our lives. Perhaps in a playful way the thought needs to insert phrases that present reality without the atavistic poetry itself, but looking for that poetry in the same idea of the glimpsed concept.
Reflection is the goal for which I invite you to read.
