I was also waiting for the Star to be added to the Kindle. I actually prefer it to the printed version as I can read the Saturday Star cover to cover without having to carry & eventually dispose of a massive amount of newsprint. Pictures are still included and the layout is excellent. You can use the title page (Articles will gray-out to show which ones you have read) or you can just progress through the articles in order.

I've been waiting for this particular newspaper to be added to Kindle for far too long. It is my favourite Canadian daily and generally has balanced journalism, fair reporting and interesting columns.

Ok, so I am an American--but I live close to Canada and travel there often. Many friends live in Toronto. Therefore, I've been reading the Star for years and years, and I am very happy to see it on Kindle.

The Star, unlike the Globe and Mail, is more of a chummy neighborhood publication---except the neighborhood is the gigantic metropolitan area of Toronto and its surrounds.
The G & M by comparison reminds me of the NY Times: wonderful for hard news, economics, op-ed. I read both.
(And, yeah, like the one reviewer says, the Star is liberal in outlook, and also sometimes very anti-American, but you get that in Canadian press & radio all the time & so what? Every publication, from every city in every country has a bias of some sort.)

The Star has all the "fun" stuff, plus enough local & world news to ruin anybody's day--meaning it's much more fun to relax with while drinking coffee. So, 4 stars from this Yankee.

I too have always enjoyed the Toronto Star and that's why I've given it a four star rating. However, the delivery system needs some work. Just now for instance, I purchased Sunday's "current edition" only to find that it was a duplicate of Saturday's content. This type of event repeats itself with an annoying frequency. I've also canceled my monthly subscription because the Star's promise of a six a.m. delivery was never met; not once. So it's back to the paper version for me as I sit with the Mole People in our downtown, underground winter food courts.

Again, with Canadian connections, the Toronto Star, combined with
the Montreal Gazzette gives an excellent coverage of what is going
on with our neighbors to the North. The Star has book reviews etc.
that don't appear in other Canadian newspapers. Love it!

I spend several months each year in the US and I like to keep up with what is going on at home in Canada. The Toronto Star is my newspaper there and now I can get it delivered to my Kindle wherever I am.

"Getting the Star anywhere you are" is a marvel of technology and convenience. No ads, all the photo's, easy to skim and read. Now I can get my newspaper from Toronto without searching the landscape for a $3.00 copy. Awesome. I would love it if they had a "Saturday Subscription" that way I can pay one fee and have my paper delivered each week before I awaken. But One Click is pretty convenient.
