About Torry Fountinhead
"We are born free and trusting, knowing our right to exist. Poetry & Writings are the song of our hearts giving flight to this knowing and connects us to the rhythm of life.
May all hearts of all human beings have the freedom to sing, express and be well, so all life will be illuminated and cherished.
In my writings and compositions, I try to illuminate the portal that allows humanity to glimpse the truth of that, with clarity and economy.
This is the one we all stem from, part of and return to in eternal cycle of life, transformation and
We are but one, even if our names and descriptions are many.
Cherish your existence and be blessed."
Titles By Torry Fountinhead
"Denying your Authentic Self significance, and
taking on false identities,
is like denying your existence."
"What if we do live in a world of illusions?
What if the illusion suppose to be a 'play'?
William Shakespeare reflected that -
"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players;
they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts..."
Imagine that it is so, and your life will transform.
We Play many roles in our lives, let us look at Life from these three different main view points - Actors, Audience, and The Stage.
“Denying your Authentic Self significance, and
taking on false identities,
is like denying your existence.”
“... All that you have heard in comments, judgements, songs, teachings, news, movies, and all forms of input – unveil them from your mind, feelings, and even your soul.
Become that which you have been created to be – your Authentic Self.”
What if you have taken upon yourself burdens heavy as thick coats, but you are in a tropical zone of existence?
And as the sun breaks through the darkest clouds,
So honour peereth in the meanest habit.
What is the jay more precious than the lark,
Because his fathers are more beautiful?”
William Shakespeare “Taming of the Shrew”
What would it have been, if not for our minds?
The Mind – our creative abilities are affected by it, and our mind-set is the indicator of where we are.
Our consciousness’s tool is our mind, so how important is it, what we hold in it?
Our minds are that part of us that grants value, or takes it away – we are the creators of our own yardsticks – whether we invented them ourselves, or accepted them from others.
In reality, all has value, yet, sometimes our minds acknowledge it, and sometimes not.
In the same way that ‘the beauty is in the eye of the beholder’.
In this short look at things, I ponder the question I had throughout my life, and that arose in me yet again while, watching William Shakespeare’s play Taming of the Shrew.
Please indulge me while I look with you, as I might use metaphors from the play, as well as my own.
"Here, I am bringing to you a quote from the book of Proverbs, part of the Bible’s Old Testament, and hope you will find how astonishing it is in its accuracy.
With my short, and hopefully sweet study, you would see how it seems, as if, Human nature did not change in essence since our creation, and certainly not since Solomon the king wrote Proverbs.
The anatomy and connection between our heart, minds, and soul, inclusive of our behaviour and habits, is essentially working in the same way, even if our surroundings and conditions of life are different.
How wonderful contemplation may be - if we just take the time..."
Proverbs 4 verses 20-27
"Keep thy heart with all diligence;
for out of it are the issues of life."
At first, you might notice that each entry is titled, but they were not addressing any particular recipient, yet, you may distinctly feel that they were written with someone in mind, and you’d be right.
Like all self-expressions, the need to talk, whether in speech or in writing, occurs in response to Life itself, and the way it touches us - Humans.
A thought is created - and captured, herein.
Essays may be developed, but sometimes – keeping it short may create a far greater engagement with you, the reader, than spelling it all out.
How wonderful contemplation may be – if we just take the time…
"Forgiveness is such a ‘tender’ gift that I
wish, one and all, would recognise that it’s
already installed within themselves. They
may use it immediately, and in every subsequent
moment – for the rest of their lives.
In actuality, it’s part of our survival
mechanism, which allows us to move forward,
in a flow rather than in a daze.
I dedicate this book to the whole of Humanity."
A word about this series
In this busy day and age, where people have
more input than they sometimes able to concentrate
on, I venture to offer a more succinct manner of dealing
with subjects of interest, or need.
The image of a tip of an iceberg immediately
brings to mind that there is much more unseen, underwater
if you may.
Consciousness is very much like the waters of
a vast sea whereby, our conscious thoughts are those
that exist above the water level, and our submerged
portion of the conscious – is very much our unknown
part therefore, many times it is called the sub-conscious,
or the un-conscious.
Our feelings are just the waves, and wave crests,
which are created by the winds of time, and occurrences
of life upon the surface.
I’d like to have your brief time of contemplation
in reading this short book yet, to impress your
mind with a profound message, and content.
It is in the succinct that we may never be overwhelmed,
and in overpowering vast amount of input
that we are fatigued.
I trust you know that much more could have
been said about the subject of the book, but maybe
what was said is enough.
I wish you joy and peace – always.
