My background: IT Consultant & Android DeveloperMy camera: Nikon D5100My device: Android phone running LollipopLike you, I was looking for a way to wirelessly transfer photos from my camera to my mobile device without the need for a computer. This card does that, and many of the issues being complained about here aren't necessarily the card's fault.1. Put your camera in "Review" mode.If you are having trouble staying connected to the FlashAir's hotspot (or can't connect at all!) Try putting your camera in it's "Review" mode, where you can browse the photos on the card. Your camera has to keep its connection to the card "open", ensuring the FlashAir gets the volts it needs to stay on. If your camera has settings that let you control the screen's off timer like mine does (see attached screenshot from my D5100 menu), I recommend you keep the screen on for a few minutes so your camera, and the card, don't go to sleep. I set my review mode to 10 minutes.2. Check your device's WiFi settingsThe app is supposed to connect to the FlashAir hotspot automatically. Turns out my phone had a setting in the WiFi menu that would disconnect it from WiFi if no Internet connection is detected (See attached screenshot). So, check your device's WiFi settings if you are having connectivity issues.3. Connect to the FlashAir hotspot manuallyIf you know your camera is on, and the app isn't connecting to the hotspot, connect to it yourself from the WiFi settings on your device. Once you are connected to the hotspot the app is guaranteed to work.4. Photos taking a long time to load? Try lowering your image quality.I have a 16MP DSLR, and I'm not shooting for prints. So I turned my quality settings from "Fine" to "Medium" and from "Large" to "Medium". My photos are now ~2MB compared to ~10MB. And forget about shooting RAW. If you are shooting to post online, you don't need huge photos. You'll browse through the FlashAir much faster if the photos are under 5MB. Your pics get downsized and compressed when you upload to Facebook/Instagram anyway.ConclusionsThe card is great and I recommend it. I'm definitely buying one for my wife, who won't use the DSLR I bought her because she hates having to upload to the computer, then to her phone. The issues other users have with the card are probably the fault of their camera's battery-saving settings, or their mobile device's WiFi settings, as I explained above. Just follow my tips and you'll be fine. Ask me any questions below.

The Toshiba 32GB FlashAir III Wireless SD Memory Card works fantastically with my Canon 7D!

The Canon 7D is notoriously difficult to use with Wireless SD Memory Cards because of its metal body. But it works fantastically with the Toshiba 32 GB FlashAir III Wireless SD Memory Card!

With this card, anytime I want to immediately send photos I have just taken to family in a text message, I can transfer the photos from my Canon 7D to my iPhone. I don't have to wait to download the photos to a computer.

I bought the following:

* EYE-FI CERTIFIED COMPACT FLASH TYPE II ADAPTER FOR EYEFI MOBI CARDS (SDCCFA-C15) (http://www.amazon.com/Eye-Fi-Certified-Compact-Adapter-SDCCFA-C15/dp/B012DBYX4W?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage)

* TOSHIBA 32GB FLASHAIR III WIRELESS SD MEMORY CARD, WHITE,(PFW032U-1CCW) (http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-FlashAir-Wireless-Memory-PFW032U-1CCW/dp/B00UOYPZP2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01)

* FLASHAIR APP by Toshiba Corp from the iOS App Store.

SETUP:
* Set my Canon 7D to remain powered-on until I manualy turn it off. This allows the Toshiba WiFi SD Card to create a network that is online until I have finished viewing and downloading my photos.
* On my iPhone: go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
* Turn Wi-Fi on.
* Select the Toshiba WiFi SD Card as the network
* Go to the FlashAir App on the iPhone.
* The App will connect to the Toshiba WiFi SD Card through its network.
* The App will ask for a password. The default is 12345678. The App will ask you to change the password for your privacy.

THEN WHENEVER I WANT TO VIEW AND TRANSFER MY PHOTOS TO MY iPHONE:
* Set my Canon 7D to remain powered-on until I manualy turn it off. This allows the WiFi SD Card to create a network that is online until I have finished viewing and downloading my photos.
* On my iPhone: go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
* Turn Wi-Fi on.
* Select the Toshiba WiFi SD Card as the network
* Go to the FlashAir App on the iPhone.
* The App will connect to the Toshiba WiFi SD Card through its network.
* Once connected, you can then view previews of your photos.
* Select one photo. It will then download. Once downloaded, you may then save the photo to your iPhone Photos collection.
* Once saved you can use other apps to edit the photos, then send it to whomever you want including sending it in a text message.

The advantages of the Toshiba 32GB FlashAir III are:
* A lot cheaper than the Eye-Fi versions
* Allows you to pick specific photos to transfer to your iPhone. This is unlike the Eye-Fi which is built to simply transfer all photos to your computer or iPhone. You can always later download all your photos to your computer. But when you want to just pick out a few and send them immediately, Toshiba works really well.
* Simple to use. No need for an online account like Eye-Fi.
* Large capacity SD cards make it easy to simply stop using CompactFlash cards and use only Toshiba FlashAir III Wireless SD Memory Cards.

I'm buying one for each of my other cameras which don't already have WiFi capability. And even if they did, the Toshiba is SO EASY TO USE, I think I prefer it to more complicated solutions.

They are so inexpensive and easy to use. It is a no brainer.

I almost hesitated in buying this. Realistically, its not for the masses. If you understand technology well, then this could be your key for pictures and transfering the images to your phone wirelessly.

Hardware: Nikon d5200, flashair 32gb, samsung note 3.

Pair your phone to the flash air first off! (note, if you format your flashair, your screwed. you need the flashair utility from toshiba and also whipe out the settings on your phone so you can start fresh!)

setup:
D5200-setting this up to work
1. set dial from auto mode to no flash, then menu->custom settings menu, timers/aelock->auto off timers->custom-> standby timer to 30 minutes. you can also do the playback/menus 10 minutes which is needed to keep device alive also incase you like having the screen on for longer periods of time. (obviously when camera goes on standby, you have stopped picture transfers.)
2. menu->playback menu->playback all(do not delete the wifi on or off image at all.) to turn on and off wifi, use the playback button and look for the wifi jpg image when your playing back images. hit the key(lock or image protection button) you can image protect on to turn off wifi and image protect off to turn on wifi. Make sure you also use the flashair utility from pc or the app from the playstore, flashair app from store. In the app, after you log into your wifi card, go into settings->flashair settings->wireless lan auto start settings->remove check mark. remember that if you do this on a phone, the only way to activate flashair wifi automatically at start (aFTER 5 MINUTES) is through the flashair utility on the pc. THis flashair utility can be downloaded form toshiba to reconfigure your flashair card or to reset to factory specs.

Samsung note 3 latest firmware-
1. disable "smart network switch"
2. install flashair app.
then it works!

so the sequence of transfering images to phone goes like this. TUrn on the camera, view your pictures and look for the jpeg that has the wifi lock and unlock. Protect image (on my d5200, its the ae-l/af-l button) unprotect the image to turn on wifi. Make sure your phone has the wifi running. load the flashair app, and it will find your wifi and you can start to download. note, you need to leave camera in playback mode or it will go to sleep during transfers. also, you may need to setup your phone so standby mode doesnt affect your transfers.

ConS!
sometimes the camera defaults to menu playback folder d5200. you will need to switch this to "ALL" to turn wifi on and off.

hope this helps people I see complaining about this. So many people who don't do research.

I don't ever leave reviews on things, but oh my gosh don't buy this thing. You will hate it. The instructions come in another language, which is cool if you can read it, but definitely not cool if you only know English. ALSO there is a firmware update needed before you can even use the card. The firmware update is available for both Mac and PC, HOWEVER the software for your COMPUTER whether it be Mac or PC, had to be about 1 or 2 software versions behind in order to even attempt the firmware update. Toshiba failed to even send out a notice of this firmware update that first became available YEARS ago. I had to search online FOR HOURS for this thing and how to make it work. My Mac is completely up to date on software, but luckily I work at Apple and we were able to image a computer to one of the said compatible software versions. Never could get the firmware update to work. A couple other techs at the store tried looking into it as well and none of us could get this thing working. Later, I found that Toshiba stopped providing service for a large number of air cards, but I wasn't able to verify if this card was in that batch of cards that are basically bricked and unable to be used. If you have an iPhone, go to the Apple store and get an SD card reader that can plug into your charging port on your phone. If you want the wifi capabilites, get FileHub All in One reader. Best 2 solutions (both cheaper and efficient) I've found since having such a terrible experience with this card. DO NOT BUY IT.

Yey! Transferring images from Canon 5DMarkIII has become so easy! I was traveling without a laptop, and sometimes you have that itch to share some nice shot you've taken the same day. This card is the perfect way to do it. I was concerned about the fact that it can reduce the battery life, so I do it in a different way, I shoot using Compact Flash memory card, then insert Toshiba Wifi SD card and just copy image on it and transfer it to the phone. But you have to find out if your phone reads RAW forms, mine doesn't, so I just save it on the card as JPG first and after that copy it to the phone. Works perfect, maybe takes a bit of time (around 10 min), but it's much better than waiting a few days till you get to the laptop. So definitely a buy for situations like these.
It arrived just in a box without any instructions, have figured out how to do it with the help of comments on Amazon. You just need to download a free app called FlashAir on your phone and turn on Wifi.

This small package packs a punch. The nikon adapter app won't work with my S7 edge so I had to look elsewhere. This little SD card works flawlessly.
The app that comes with it, is very intuitive and easy to use.
Transfer speeds are a bit slow for big files but no big deal.
Currently using a nikon D5200 and galaxy S7 edge.
Password for WiFi setup is 12345678.
