My computer had crashed. I had given enough money to the Geek Squad in the past, and was done. I've had lots of success with DIY type projects, and just decided my computer would be no different, so I was willing to try my hand at tit. knowing I was handy with a screwdriver, I went to work. Once I could locate the model number on my old hardrive and order it on amazon...I had a good feeling I could resolve my own computer issues. I was so proud of myself when I put it in and it worked. I saved a tiny fortune...I'd lost a lot of little things nothing too important, but I had all the main software printer, microsoft office, etc... What I did learn was that I wouldn't need to purchase Windows separately which I had, but returned it. After installing the new hardrive I was able to use my system recovery discs to restore and windows was there. I couldn't be happier with my decision.

So my laptop over heats (HP G62) not like some comps where you can't even sit them on your lap because they become so hot. Just hot enough to cause hardware issues. So.....I'm in college and one day my comp says "imminent HDD failure...back up blah blah blah" So I back up all my stuff and look on my comp to see what HDD is in there. So, I order the same exact one and I install it myself. Took like.....10 mins...super easy. My comp still over heats but I also bought a fan so that my HDD wont crash again. Technically the other one didn't get to crash so I think that it is a good HDD (or I wouldn't have bought the same one again lol). And this one is just as good.

Great drive, even if it's the MK3276GSX instead of the MK3265GSX. Excellent price.

I bought the drive "just in case," because I'm a serial killer of HDDs. Sure enough, I murdered my HDD last week (dropped the computer, failed to reslot the drive before restarting--stupid, stupid, stupid). Out came the old, in went the new. It would've taken no time at all except that I wasted a few hours trying to make the old drive work again.

I plan to order another so I have one on hand for my next killing spree. You just can't beat this deal, and it pays to be prepared.

There really is not much that can be said; new 320 GB hard drives are basically outdated OEM surplus items; and, thus, now rather inexpensive. This drive was purchased to convert a 6 year old Toshiba "Satellite" laptop computer, with an 80 GB HDD, to a Linux Ubuntu OS. It is an perfect physical fit, and functions as one would expect. For the use that it was acquired for, a larger capacity drive would be of little benefit while costing significantly more money.
