The author of The Secret of the Rosary and the originator of total consecration to Mary, St. Louis-Marie Grignion De Montfort (1673-1716) remains one of the greatest apostles of Marian devotion the world has ever known. As a young priest, De Montfort dedicated himself to preaching to the people. This highly gifted orator s language was simple but full of divine love, much as you will find in True Devotion to Mary. De Montfort s whole life was marked by constant prayer, love for the poor and holy joy in humiliations and persecutions. De Montfort was canonized by Pius XII in 1947.

I pre-ordered this book and eagerly awaited its arrival. I am using it (I am on Day 31 as I submit this review) to prepare for my consecration, and it has been a lovely experience. There are a few typos (regarding page numbers) but these do not take away from the power of this book or leave the reader lost. It is laid out well, taking one through the 33-day preparation easily. I love the inclusion of a list of feast days with dates so you can choose your consecration day, and I appreciate the editor's explanations of some concepts that may have made complete sense to some but, in 2019, do not exactly translate -- phrases like, "being a slave," for example. I read de Monfort's The Secret of the Rosary along with this text, which I found to be a good companion -- that book provided me with some background information that made what I found in this book more meaning, but I also believe the book stands on its own. Highly recommended.

The readings (three per day) are taken from the Douay Rheims Bible, The Imitation of Christ and True Devotion to Mary. Well set out on quality paper. the book is a pleasure to hold and easy to carry anywhere. Print size is very good.

I have gone through the material twice now. This is an excellent book, easy to read and complete the material each day. Three readings and some prayers - takes between 20 and 40 minutes depending on how quickly you want to move through it.
