Even though I assume this Terminator guy just focused on the good things and how great things turned out to be for him when he established in America I still think it's something really good to read. it's inspiring and makes you wonder how far can you go when you chase a dream. This guy it's the biggest body builder ever, he became a hollywood star and still hungry he became governor of the largest state of the US.When I was a kid I used to love his movies, he was kind of a superhero to me and when I saw the chance to read about his life I just seized it. I loved the stories behind some of his movies, I found kind of boring the chapters about what he did as governor and I found a bit disappointing the chapter "The secret" where he tells briefly about one of the biggest mistakes of his life that costed him his marriage and reputation and he said not really much about what in the blue blazes made him do what he did. Great last chapter with the 10 rules of Arnold,I guess he could have added a 11th one about not being so theatrical when you had the chance to write your biography.
I always knew Arnold as the Action movie star, I knew he did body building but as a kid I only cared when he was chasing down the predator or shooting up a whole island to rescue Aylssa Milano. But this book goes into his full life story and it is written very well. There is a lot more to the Austrian Oak than just muscles, this guy has some brains and as you read the book you will see how he became who he is today.
It is crazy to read all the things he has experienced, whether just being in the right place at the right time...or being smart with his money. Very good read and will give you more insight into Arnold. He talks about everything too, steroids, his affair...now maybe not as in depth as you would really like but he seems pretty up front with everything he writes.
Was a really good read and had some awesome pictures to boot.
(P.S. If you like your non-fiction to be in a macho style that matches his movies, as I tried to imitate in this review, then you'll love Arnold's book. The intensity and the ego doesn't get in the way of genuine and insightful moments, and in my opinion it was genuinely fascinating. A must read.)
I'm not a big fan of Arnold. Well I wasn't :) But after reading this book I need to see every his movie :)) He is real hero. From nothing to BIG sucess.
It's a huge book. From his childhood to bodybulding, to America Dreaming to Gouverner of California!
I really enjoy reading this book, it's worthy... a lot! Many pictures included.
Read it :)
