- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2014I really enjoyed reading this book. As a divorcee I'm not so full of myself that I can't admit that (more than) 50% of the problems were caused by ME... mostly pertaining to the subject of "you can't change a man." I have been divorced 3 years now and it has really opened my eyes a lot. I also feel like this has helped me in my male relationships at WORK as well by understanding their needs better.
Being in ANY relationship requires more than people realize-- I am so much more aware of my own strengths and weaknesses. This book was very informative and I appreciated all the parts in it that ran along the lines of-- the woman MUST take care of herself. I think that is one of the biggest problems in marriage is the woman starts taking care of everyone and everything else that she puts herself on the back burner. The daily 'bubble bath' ritual before the hubs comes home is a great reminder that WE need that time to relax and because WE will be relaxed when he arrives home, we can then in turn help HIM relax by giving him what HE needs.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 202450 years ago, my husband and I were going through a rough patch in our marriage. I was young and had no idea how to fix it. My mother sent me a copy of this book. I read it and applied the advice. It really made a difference. At least I had some things to work on. I saw this book on Amazon and decided to read it again. I noticed I have slacked off in a number of things I used to do. I am trying to reimplement some of those things. I highly recommend the book!

Well this is the book that will help you get there! You can get that "butterflies in your stomach, mushy" feeling again with your husband...get this book and learn a little from this author...someone who has "been there and done that"! She gives great insight into being a woman, wife, and mother successfully. Just read a little and apply what you've learned...and then do it again 😉 definitely life changing!

- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2022Although dated, the perspective is an interesting look back at what was perceived at the time as the role of women in a marriage. If you want to understand your grandmother's attitude about marriage, this may help. Although some reviews are scathing, not all the advice is bad. Read it, and judge for yourself.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2023I bought this in JAN 2023 for the (social media) Channah Speaks The Real Book Club. It promotes the Kingdom mindset for traditional women of all ages. It’s a movement!!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2019This is nothing but the best gag gift for a bride you can get. Morgan's take on marriage is extremely misogynistic. Women are meant to please and not ask questions. Some of it is downright silly.
I've been married 31 years now and nope, her ideas didn't help. They are insulting. Even my husband was shocked at the attitudes she expresses.
It's not just conservative or old-school, it's slyly accusing women of being stupid. And needing to manipulate their husbands rather than engage honestly.
Ick. I bought it to torment a friend.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2014I've read several books for wives since becoming a Christian in 1990, and although they all have their merit, I have found that I enjoy and am helped the most by this one. It's not too preachy, and doesn't put you under a heavy yoke or burden. Very encouraging, funny, and creative.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2010This book is absolutely amazing! Although it is set to discuss the trials and tribulations of the 1950's housewife, it is still somehow applicable to 21st century women and marriages. This book really will help you become the total woman. It is very engaging and telling and I would recommend it to anyone.

Not new, out of step with much of recent zeitgeist, and writing not polished. However it contains huge potential for joy. Marabel Morgan's marriage was in trouble; this is how she pro-actively enabled her marriage to become vibrant and exciting again, and how many others have since done too.

Mary KTReviewed in the United Kingdom on November 4, 20114.0 out of 5 stars A decent read
I will admit I went into this with some suspicions. Before reading the book I had read a quote from it that sounded less than appealing for a young person such as me.
However, the more I read, the more I enjoyed this read. Were there ridiculous moments? Yes. I giggled on more than a few occasions and wouldn't even think to follow plenty of the advice given. The author does underline some very important points though, which should be taken for what they are, hopefully with an open mind. Assuming that the advice is for how to be a good partner (which it isn't, by the way) and good parent, it can almost pass up as inspiring.
At a few occasions notes of unintended (or is it?) sexism stand out and can easily throw off the average modern woman. But if you can bear to look past it and consider these thoughts in a more broad manner, you will come out of this experience at least a bit enriched. Even if you don't agree with (the othe) half of what the author has written, as it was in my case.
Overall a decent read, not feminist friendly but good enough for the more flexible female readers.

KAsparellReviewed in the United Kingdom on May 12, 20113.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious!
I bought this for a tongue-in-cheek look into how to become a perfect housewife. I wasn't disappointed, it is hilarious although I suspect my husband wishes I didn't find it so funny and actually took some of it's advice.
Don't purchase if you're an easily offended feminist though!
