This book tells the story of a kitten who was found after it endured a devastating tornado and 100% of the proceeds from "Toto's" book sales will be donated to the Animal Rescue League of Boston. Toto was nursed back to health and now resides with two of the best parents he could ever ask for!
My children thoroughly enjoyed the story and the illustrations but what made it more exciting for them was that it's actually a true story.
I highly recommend the book!

This is a special true story about a little kitten who was found in a tree after a tornado struck the small town of Brimfield, Massachusetts. Beautifully illustrated by Carol Rusika its touching story will appeal to both children and adults who can realte to little Totos story about losing his old home, but finding a new one. All of the proceeds go to the Animal rescue LEague of Boston's rescue services team - a great story about a great kitten for a great cause - truly heartwarming and touching!!!

I love the book because it not only teaches people old and young about rescue animals (in this case a cat) but 100% of the proceeds go to Animal Rescue in Boston. It is well written and the drawings are adorable. It's a fun read for any age group.

I saw this book on one of my pet rescue sites, and it combines three of my favorite things- kittens, burly rescuers and wild weather.
The story is very well written by Jonathan Hall, a paramedic who was helping in the cleanup of a tornado in Brimfield MA. A tiny kitten, later named Toto for obvious reasons, was found high in a tree. The kitten was cared for by a Boston animal rescue organization - The Animal Rescue League.
The story is a very cute one, good for young kids up to early teens. It has a very positive feel. The very happy part is that Mr Hall ends up adopting Tot and bringing him back to Brimfield to live. As Toto says "No more tornados for me".
My only disappointment is that I'm not a big fan of the illustrator's style. I prefer either more realistic pictures, photos or a watercolor painting style similar to Eloise Wilkin's. However, that is simply my opinion and I'll bet there are plenty of readers who will enjoy Carol Ruzicka's illustrations.
I have purchased two copies now for my grandkids. I normally buy all my books from Amazon, but this time I'm going to make the recommendation that you buy directly from the author's site. My reasoning is that 100% of any proceeds from the books sold off Mr Hall's site will go to the Animal rescue League of Boston, a worthy charity. Mr Hall's website is [...] Buying it here also gives you the option of having the author AND Toto autograph and inscribe the book!

This impressive children's book is a very touching true story and I highly recommend it! I bought it as a gift for two small boys and they begged to have it read at bedtime for five nights in a row! I think it is meaningful for adults as well!

I purchased the story about "TOTO" to read about the unfortunate disaster & his journey back to his family.
"TOTO" was read to my grandaughter (age 5) by her mother. The loss of home & the cat "TOTO" brought her to tears...so sad for the family. Those feelings were followed by joy to the end when they were altogether again. I thought it would be a great true story about " Life " and it is! We cannot control events that occur but we can count-our-blessings! I thought it was an excellent story of love. (Nana S.)
