A Touch of Cinnamon is the second book in the Three Sisters Catering series.
It was a short, cute read. A second chance at romance for Tasha, the youngest of the three sisters. As she reconnects with her first and only love, Jericho.
As fate would have it, when the sisters opened their catering business, the restaurant across the street was owned by none other than Jericho. Tasha’s college sweetheart, the man she left without a word. No goodbye, no I’m sorry, just gone. It’s been years since they laid eyes on each other. Their attraction for each other is still as strong as ever, but one emotion overrides them all. Anger. Jericho just wants answers.
It was a cute story. Very easy to read. I loved the characters. While we learn Tasha and Jericho’s story, we get the continuation of Millie and Jackson’s story (from book one), as well as setting up the next story, Dru and Mick’s.
The story is told from dual points of view. A sweet second chance romance, with some family drama thrown in toward the end. I would definitely read them in order. One story kind of blends into the next. This one ended rather abruptly. Left one huge glaring question unanswered.
But I will be looking for the third book.
“Second chance, 4 stars”
Jericho knew Natasha was the one the first day he met her during his junior year of college. She was this cute little freshman who looked like a fish out of water. Soon after they were connected at the hip and deeply in love, or so he thought. Now years have past and a second chance is among them. Will Tasha give him the second chance he craves or will she continue to deny them of what they want? Will an unforeseen force tear them apart or will they hold it together? Only time will tell..
Natasha has one goal and that’s to not end up like her mother. She came close, back in college before her mother past. She let a boy consume her and she knew if she stayed or went back that she would never find a way to breath without him. And if she learned anything from her parents its that someone always leaves, so she left before he could hurt her. Now she’s faced with a choice, give the only man she’s ever loved a second shot or watch both herself and him be miserable forever. Which will she choose?
Sometimes fate makes choices for you and that’s ultimately what happens with these two giving them everything they desire. They paid their dues and grew up apart and now its time to step back up to the plate. I really did like Jericho and Tasha, I just wish there was more to the story. In a way it felt a little too cut and dry for me. With that said though, I cannot wait to see where Lopez takes Tasha’s sister Dru’s story because I have a feeling that one will be a doozy.
I loved the book. In the beginning, I was worried about the flashbacks and the years they were separated, but everything worked out perfectly in this book and I finished the book with a smile which is why I am giving the book a nomination for my top ten reads of 2018. Jericho was a great hero and he made me swoon. He showed how much he loved Tasha instead of just telling her as many heroes do these days. He found their perfect home and build the life they said they wanted, so how could I not love him? He was amazing and unlike many others, he trusted Tasha in the end instead of believing that she would leave him again.
The next book in the series is probably going to be the last unless there is a sister I don't know about and I am very curious about that book. It's Dru's story and for almost all the story I thought her hero would be Mick, but is there a chance for Hector? I want a confirmation on who is going to be the hero because something about Hector having the moves and Mick not dating a client is bothering me. I liked the idea of Mick and Dru and I don't want to see it ruined.
Overall, this book was good and I would recommend it. The hero is amazing and the heroine was also good despite her behavior when she was in college.
