About the Author
Allison Rios was born and raised in Joliet, Illinois. Writing has been her relaxation and hobby since childhood, when she began taking notes on neighborhood happenings (the big stuff, like someone mowing a lawn or washing a car) and putting together hand-written newspapers. She grew into a career in public relations, marketing and web but never lost the love for writing fiction. In between a full-time job, chauffeuring kids and shopping for high heels, she spends her free time typing out daydreams and creating new worlds with her imagination – a hobby she likes to share with her children. She is currently working on the next book in the Healer series.

If this novel taught me anything it's that you should never be afraid to try a new genre. You just might be pleasantly surprised. Definitely looking forward to the sequel.
I like most paranormal books most of the time, but I don't usually enjoy the ones about fallen angels or guardians with the fate of the world hanging in the balance, just seems too "biblical" for this spiritual but NOT religious person that I am. The Touch allowed me to enjoy the great powers of the truly spiritual Healers without getting all "preachy" about where the power comes from. You're free to imagine the actions and feelings of the characters without being burdened down by morality lessons.
Yes, there are some typos and grammatical errors that can catch your attention, but thankfully few nor glaring enough to pull you out of the story. I'm quite happy to discover that I've already downloaded the second book and can pick up quickly where this one left off. It wasn't a cliff hanger ending exactly, but does make you want to know what happens next!
I could not put it down. I actually asked my husband to watch the kids so I could finish!
The characters came alive, the story captured me, and I cannot wait to find out what happens next.
This book is well-written, and is an awesome first effort.
Allison Rios has a bright future ahead of her in writing!
