Frost is a British policeman who is brave, intelligent, emphatic with

crime victims.He is messy,doesn't like paperwork,and has a skimpy

social life. The stories are always realistic without being gory, and

are 100 minutes in length. This series has the 4 stories:Appropriate

Adults,Quarry,Dead Male One,and No Refuge.The acting,photography,

and music are excellent as usual. Frost develops but later ends

a relationship with Shirley Fisher because he can't commit himself.

In the process he considers selling the house he shared with his

now dead wife.I find these series to be among the best of British

mysteries and have preordered Series 4,due in November.

David Jason is still fairly unknown here in the USA, and in fact is more popular in England for comic performances than his sober portrayal here as the redoubtable Frost. This is a far cry from most US police drama's and Jason plods through each episode with didactic deliberation, cleverly piecing clues together, and bringing criminals to justice. There is an unspoken charm to his character who is both likeable and frustrating, carrying scraps of paper as aide memoirs constantly as he solves each case. Something of an anachronism, he is an old fashiioed policeman, with what he sees as outdated morals, and practices - but his quirky style is moreoften than not, more than a match for his lawbreaking quarry. There's no eye popping action, explosions, guns or even over the top story's here, so adrenaline junkies please steer clear. Almost a latter day Sherlock Holmes, Frost is an intelligent, yet down to Earth, blue collar detective, resolved to getting the job done. This collection finds four middle of the road episodes that represent the series well, some may find that the structure of each one precludes repeated viewing, but you almost come to love the character, and this is a well rounded set for newcomers, and fans alike. Very well done. Enjoy!

David Jason is one of the finest actors that the UK has produced - and this, the third of the Frost DVDs - finds him as engaging as ever.
Infusing his detective work with pathos and humour, Jason portrays a "grey" detective in an overly "grey" British town. Not the recipe for outstanding television, but Jason's excellence is matched by the scriptwriter - and the viewer is genuinely transported into the life of a British police inspector in a new town, with all of its troubles and problems.
Jason not only proves to be a superb police man, his humour - and distaste for new policing methods - ensure that the viewer is able to relax, focus, switch on and off, all at the same time as the main character. I really can't recommend this DVD - or any of the other three issued to date - highly enough.
Long live David Jason. With Del Boy in "Only Fools and Horses" and Frost in this series, he has portrayed two of Britain's greatest TV heroes: the range of the man's acting is simply breathtaking.

As usual, David Jason is perfect as pugnacious Frost, going against the grain to solve mysteries, downing innumerable sandwiches, and coping with his repressive boss, Supt. Mullett. The first episode in this season is the weakest (self-conscious and dated), but the following three are all strong. Fans of "Midsomer Murders" are in for a special treat in seeing young John Barnaby (Neil Dudgeon) earning his credentials working undercover as DC Frank Costello in "Nothing To Hide." Enjoy!

Super great series. If you like Inspector Morse, Midsommer Murders, etc. be sure to watch this one! I was soooo glad to be able to purchase this digital series on Amazon With recent history on most streaming services, these older series are disappearing from public availability to stream and watch, so depressing; especially when it is so hard to find them to purchase and expensive when you do!. I REALLY LOVE BRITISH TV.

Oh what can we say about Inspector Frost ! We love this show so much. In other reviews we have expressed how much we dislike current TV shows (mostly realty shows) and how much we appreciate the British Mysteries. We pretty much like most of the British Mystery Shows but Frost is just so fantastic it is pretty much number one on our list. David Jason is so perfect in this show (and we remember him from Open All Hours and so many other great shows) and he is perfect in this drama with a touch of the humor he is known for. We can't say enough about these shows. Cast is perfect, stories are interesting. If you have not watched Frost don't hesitate to.

I absolutely love the British mysteries and Frost didn't disappoint me. I'm hooked on him and keep ordering and watching. I like them so much that I bought my first "Touch of Frost" book. Hopefully, the books will be as good as the videos! You just can't beat the British mysteries and the sitcoms are good too.

This is one of the very best series I have ever enjoyed. David Jason is impeccable as Jack Frost, a seasoned detective. The amazing part of the film is the tremendous depth of character displayed by Jack Frost. Frost deals in the very real world of ignorance, greed, and political power mongering with a depth of wisdom which is seldom shown in TV or Movie drama. If you are tired of the shallow and stupid characters often displayed in the entertainment industry this is a refreshing change.
