It is mostly free of errors, I only noticed one (it is a howler, though). The ending indicates there will be more to be heard from this villain and the H/h so it looks to be a serial book to go with the serial killer. It was well written and I enjoyed it and finished it in about a half hour--I do wish the writer had taken more time and expanded it more. It would have made a decent full length book.
Right now, she’s on the case for the missing daughter of a retired FBI agent, who brings in his protégé for assistance. However, Mac doesn’t need a so-called “psychic” to get in his way, even if she did have the most ravishing legs he’d ever seen. Even though they may not see eye-to-eye, the two make an electrifying team and neither will rest until they find the kidnapper. Of course, they make time for a romp in the sack though.
All in all, this was an easy and enjoyable read, but it just seemed that the story didn’t concentrate on the missing case so much and mostly revolved around the two having sex. And she kept the gloves on the whole time. I mean, we don’t even find out what Mac’s deal with this woman from his past. I guess we’d need to find out on the next story of the series. Still, the ending was too convenient and weak. I wish we would’ve had more psychic action rather than regular action.
In this first book of the series, we have everything in the warnings. There is also the flavor of "cat and mouse" between the villain and investigators (which includes a psychic who is dealing with and trying to overcome the prejudice of others who don't understand) to find a missing daughter before its too late. Tentative romance is begun. Greatly looking forward to the rest of the series. Author has been made aware of typos. AT THE RISK OF SPOILERS, I hope Isabelle is vindicated in future books. Also in reply to reviewers who didn't like the sex scenes, I read them as a device to show her yearning for acceptance and her isolation even in the most intimate and vulnerable moments and to educate Mac to her situation.
The thing is, even though this was a complete book, not really a cliffhanger at the end, the excerpt for book 2 leads on into their stories. I want to read onward!
