Caleb. Sexy. Carter. Sexy. Tove. Sexy. Everett. Sexy. I'd say, Ara's got it pretty good.

I absolutely loved this book!!! This a beautifully crafted story of romance, friendship, and strength!!

The magic and beauty of these characters will reel you right in. The humor and witty dialogue will have you falling in love even more these fascinating people. The romance captures you. It will have you wishing you could make rose petals rain from the ceiling and kiss in the snow!!

This is an EPIC read!! One I strongly suggest you one-click ASAP! I am a JW fan for life!!

Is this really a debut novel? Oh my...where oh where do I begin? I am still floating somewhere in between worlds, drunk off these wonderfully written characters. Let me start off by saying that I had never read this genre before nor was I interested. I don't know exactly what it was but that blurb - oh my Lord, it sucked me right in and had me flipping through the pages before my brain could even process what I'd done LOL. And boy am I glad I did. This story was wonderful. Magical. Fascinating. It was an epic adventure in each page and so many sexy scenes which had me blushing while I read. The characters were wonderfully developed - Ara was so relatable, Tove was an in-betweener for me (one second I liked him and the next I wanted to punch his throat), Carter was sexy, sweet, sometimes a bit hard-headed but then again ALL MEN are that way LOL, I absolutely loved him and wanted to jump right in the book so I could steal him away from Ara. Together with these amazing characters I went through a magical journey all the while Jennifer Weiser enchanted me with her sophisticated and eloquent writing. Where has this author been my whole life? I loved this story. Fell in love with the characters. Absolutely ADOREDDDDD the perfectly well-written words. And now I have added Jennifer Weiser to my list of favorite authors.

I recommend this book to EVERYONE. Seriously !!! You will not regret it and you will agree with me when I say that I will read ANYTHING & EVERYTHING this author writes.

REVIEW:

The Touched was a story that truly interested me. It has a great synopsis and when Jennifer contacted us to work with us in the FFBC Tours, she made my day. I was captivated by the soul mates and the war between cities that the synopsis promised. And I was not disappointed.

Jennifer's world is torn between two societies: The Touched, people who have magical abilities, and the normal people. In Carter's city, The Touched are accepted and educated, while in Arabella's city are hunted and executed. Carter hates everyone in Union City for burning her mother alive for saving someone in the street while visiting the city and Arabella is running from the city and the people she grew with because of what she is.

I have to confess that at first was a bit lost in what world I landed in, but as soon as the story progresses and we get to meet the characters and their surrounding everything becomes clearer. The story is narrated from different points of view, more than two, and while this gives an extra insight into the story, I sometimes get overwhelmed by this. Although I have to say that most of the story is told from three POVs, so this made this read bearable.

The characters were well-built and every single one of them had its own voice. I liked that Arabella is a strong female, but also has her weaknesses and needs the people she loves. She's the powerful one in the story and struggles with it. Meanwhile, Carter starts as the cocky and irritable guy described in the synopsis but we get to see more of him.

I received an ARC for this blog tour. I am in love with this story. This is an undeniable five star read. Jen, you have done an amazing job. This is another one of those reviews where it is almost impossible to write because I just can't find the words to do the book justice. How many times can "amazing" be used in a review without becoming redundant?

The story itself is amazing. It completely drew me in to it. This book is right up my alley. I loved every page of the book. Even when something was ticking me off, I loved reading it. There are so many details that must have went into the story. All of the information that goes into the story without seeming bogged down by it is so well done. The pacing is perfect, in my opinion. I feel like I can't reveal too much of the story. I think a lot of it needs to be experienced as it is read. The beginning was one that most definitely drew me in. It will have you turning the pages and wanting to know what the hell is going on.

The writing is such that I could picture what was happening as if I were right there with the characters. Now, the characters, they were all so great. Even the more questionable characters were great. I'm more of a character driven reader. And while this story most definitely had the plot, it has the amazing characters that would keep me coming back. I really liked Arabella's character. She felt so real (as did the rest) and very relatable, to me, despite most of her situation not exactly being relatable. Tove, Cast, Trinity, Rob, Leader Penthallow, Leader Decker, Caleb. They were all great characters. While Arabella captured my heart in one way, the character that captured my heart in a completely different way would have to be Carter Decker.
