Thank you Emily Jane Trent for another great read
In the touched by you series you Meat Natalie and Tanner and are whisked away on elaborate trips around the country and the world. Take the journey while they battle demons of the past, present and future and watch their love grow and experience romance like you haven't before. I love this series and everything else EJT writes she transports you into the story and leaves you yearning for more.
I did like that Tanner was sweet to her after he "punished" her. He took his time and made love to her instead of pounding her guts out. That was nice. I get tired of reading how the H just screws the h so hard all the time.
I wished there was more verbal interaction, more development outside of the mental dialog, and the pace slowed down. I'm glad that at the end of book 4, we knew where Natalie stood with Tanner because I don't know if I'll read anymore on the series because of the issues I've already mentioned. I kept hoping as I read the four books that the development would get better and it did a little but I haven't decided if it was enough to proceed any further. I know I'm not the only one who felt the way I did. I just hope that Ms. Trent sees this as constructive criticism and not a slam. Like I said earlier they could have been really good.
Looking forward to the next story....
ONE of the problems I had with these 'books' was the lack of connection I felt with the characters. Instead of giving us communication between Natalie and Tanner, we were given brief, abbreviated conversations with them in a segment or two and then immediately went into drawn out sex scenes. Now, I don't mind sex scenes in a story - but I need a plot worth reading. Seriously - you read a couple of segments and then you are entering another sex scene.
Another problem I had was that the author constantly repeats herself as if she fears that we may forget what we were told just a few pages back.
Another problem that I cannot abide in any romance novel where the heroine lacks a back bone. Natalie wasn't strong at all.
This is the first 4 books out of 12. If I want to continue with Natalie and Tanner's story I would have to pay and additional $24.00. That seems a bit steep and I'm pretty sure that the 1164 pages in books 5-12 will be the same as the first 742 pages.
Thanks but no thanks.
