5. Open browser and a Comcast page will appear.(If not manually write it in your browser Comcast.com)
6. just enter your phone number and account number.
After opening the browser I manually wrote the address Comcast.com and it straight went to the installation page and asked me my phone # and account#. After a few minutes it was installed but a message window appeared that it cannot connect to Comcast and call the comcast. I called the # and the service tech sent a signal and the modem accepted it. restarted the computer and every thing start working. Checked the internet speed and it was 27/6 instead of 25/5.
No More $7 Renting fee.
The telephone connections are as clear as a land line. This is an excellent unit for the price. This saves a person on
the XFINITY (Comcast) rental per month.
I had no problem getting it set up through the "chat" feature on the TWC website. And I make my money back in about 45 days. Great ROI!
It was a pain (1 hour on phone I think) to get it activited. It seemed to have been used by someone before, which may explain the low price, but all ended well.
This is a backup modem for use if/when the main modem has issues. The only thing I do not like about this modem is that it is an older DOCSIS 2.0 modem and cannot achieve the higher connection speeds (100+ MB/s) that Comcast offers when a DOCSIS 3.0 modem is used. Even so, it should prove to be a dependable modem.
Note: As of Dec 2013, the Comcast Device Information Center web page shows Model number TM602G as an approved modem but does not show the TM602A on the list. This modem did activate properly after several firmware updates pushed to it from Comcast during the activation process.
It does have a label that says "Property of Charter Communications" - the person who leased it would have to pay a fine if not returned.
Going to try to return this and get a TM502G which I know works with Comcast

Took two people at Comcast to configure it for their requirements, one not smart enough and the second one smart enough to get the job done in less than 5 minutes. Happy happy!!Published 20 months ago by Joe
