The Touchtype is an iPad case that can also hold the Apple Wireless Keyboard. The Touchtype stores the Apple Wireless Keyboard underneath the iPad — not on top (like most other keyboard cases). This means you have direct access to your iPad as soon as you open the cover. To use the keyboard, just move aside the elastic restraining loops and slide it out from the pocket. There when you need it, gone when you don't. It also doubles as an iPad stand. Simply fold the cover back and slide it into the tab on the back (similar to Apple's iPad 1 Case) and enjoy your perfect typing angle. Works with the keyboard in or out. Since Touchtype uses tense elastic to keep the iPad firmly in place. This allows it to easily adjust itself to any iPad (including the iPad 3 / new iPad). And as all the straps are symmetrically placed, you can put in your iPad with the Home button on the left or the right. The Touchtype case even has built-in magnets on either side to wake and sleep your iPad in whatever orientation you choose. There's no such thing as wrong way round or upside down. Some people really like to orient the iPad in portrait mode when they want to do some heavy typing. If you're one of those people, then the Touchtype has a trick to show you. Laying flat, hidden underneath the iPad lies a second set of elastic straps. Simply rotate the iPad and slide it into these straps and revel in your vertical typing bliss. Why should Apple struggle to make the iPad thinner only to have it imprisoned in chunky keyboard cases? The Touchtype understands the iPad's pain. Every design decision when making the case was in pursuit of thinness.

It's beautiful, streamline, and looks high end. The only drawbacks are that it's a tight, tight fit for my ipad 1. Also it's a tight fit for the keyboard as well, even without the ipad in the case.
The black fabric on the inside of the case is difficult to keep free of lint and s hard to clean. I would have kept to the polyurethane for the interior as the whole point of a standing case is to be able to stand it on surfaces, say: in the student union ( or tables in Starbucks or Panera).
Overall I love it and it is a perfect example of (at least in deign) a product actually improving rather than hindering or limiting the range of use of a product.
Only drawback: This case is not intended for flipping the top to the backside and fixing it there with ae.g. 15°-30° angle, so that you are able to use it directly without the keyboard like all the other cases.
You will have fun with it!
I’ve been using it for about a year, day-in and day-out. Keyboard on my knees and the iPad in a chair, on a ledge, desk or other semi-stable place. Far superior to a laptop-surrogate case. Separating the keyboard gives much greater flexibility.
Construction and materials are strong, and bring sufficient protection from the bumps and knocks. I’ve kept the vinyl/plastic keyboard cover that came from Apple, to keep the crap out of the keys and that’s worked well too. So don’t throw away that protective cover.
I’m always on the hunt for better kit. Used the Macbook Pro and Air and this iPad-with-wireless- keyboard is my best solution so far. But only because the Touchtype case keeps it together. If you need to type in the field, the combination of iPad plus Apple keyboard plus Touchtype case is hard to beat.
It is able to fit in my pocketbook or my small laptop bag with my laptop. YAY! When traveling I just open up with a flip of a button. I would also prefer other fashion colors. I'm a pink girl. =-) I purchased the keyboard with my new ipad and did not realizes I could have purchase a case and keyboard together. It's great. I would recommend it to others
