Holy Hell C.M. Stunich!! You have done it to me again! You suck me into this dark world of rock ‘n’ roll and I get swept away in the suspense and sizzling scenes and then you leave me hanging! I love it, but dayum girl, you have me hooked!! :D
Tough Luck continues on after Get Bent, but this time there are two new main characters; Lola and Ronnie. Ronnie is Turner’s best friend in the band and I was keen to see more of him since he was in the previous book a bit. He really is a lost soul who has been dealt a bad hand, and until now has had only his music and friends. He is very smart and knows a lot about the tour and the other bands, but tends to spend too much time doing drugs, drinking and having sex. When things turn to s***, it was interesting to see the way he handles things and how he changed for the better.
Lola… The girl from Australia (fist pump) is a tiny girl with big secrets. She is the drummer for Ice and Glass, another band that is touring with the crew. I liked getting to know her and seeing her internal struggles between success and what is right. She is in a difficult situation and is unsure on how to get out. The more time she spent with Ronnie, I could see that she was wavering because their connection was getting stronger and when they did get together, it was hard and fast!
I love how the overall storyline is continuing in each book. It is full of suspense and I even feel that I have to look over my shoulder. I love how we get to see both Ronnie and Lola perform on stage. Even their stage appearances don’t go as planned and I still love seeing Turner take control. I enjoy how this book is still closely tied to the original stories, so Naomi and Turner still play big parts in this book. After that ending however, I have to dive in the next one straight away!
Some quotes I loved :
"You're stuck with me until the day your wrinkly a$$ falls out of a wheelchair and croaks."
"As far as i'm concerned, you're my woman now. get used to it .And get used to this because it's going to be the last cock you ever suck."
I am a huge fan of this series and a huge fan of C.M Stunich. So far in this series we are getting a full dose of Naomi and Turner. We know that Naomi is being targeted and just when we think we have it figured out....Boom!! we find out its not just her.
This book is all about how Ronnie McGuire fits into this crazy messed up mystery.
I was so happy to see Ronnie starting to come out of his depression and drug induced haze in book 2, and now we get to learn more about what put him there. Ronnie has a reputation in the previous books as being the gossip king as well as an addict and man whore. We know he has several kids with several different mommas and that he really doesn't have relationships with any of them, but that's all we really know about him. Now we get the story of how he became that man and why he is now being targeted. We also get to meet the members of Ice and Glass, one of the opening bands on the tour.
This is how we meet Lola Saints, the drummer for Ice and Glass. Lola approaches Ronnie after a show to try and gets some information from the man who seems to know everything. What she finds is a broken man and though she knows she shouldn't she wants nothing more that to put him back together. So many more twists and turn revealed in this book, so many questions answered and so many new players. I love this book and cannot wait for the next one. I have to know what happens next. I recommend this series and if you have already started it then you know its awesome and should also be impatiently waiting for what happens next!!
