Enter the Hori Tough Pouch case. You get a great mix of semi hard plastic protection, without much bulk and weight. its officially licensed so you know the dimensions are pretty spot on. On the flap, there are fairly deep slots for 5 games plus an elastic strap to hold accessories, but it works great with the Joy Con straps. With the straps inserted, it puts the perfect amount of pressure to keep the system in place. Without the grips in the accessory holder, i felt the Switch slide laterally very slightly. The dual zippers are metal and seems fairly durable. Having two zippers will allow you to charge your Switch while keeping the system protected.
There are no elastic straps included for the console so you need to be careful when opening the case. As long as you open it with the case horizontal, it shouldn't be a problem. Just remember that the switch logo is only on the front of the case. The back case is blank. Keep that in mind and that should help you open it right side up.
Because the bottom of the case is flat and the Joy Con are not, there is more pressure up at the triggers. If you look closely you can see some slight indentation on the inside of the case because of this. I don't really see this as a problem as the case and Joy Cons seem durable enough to last. If you decide to charge while in the case, keep in mind that the switch will be at an angle and the USB cable will be sitting on the edge of the case. This puts some pressure on the cable end and the charging port. Its not ideal, but probably won't affect the hardware, but just something to keep in mind.
Despite the few negatives, I think this is one of the better launch cases out there.
Plus: the pouch is very slim! compared to other bulky pouch in the market.
Downside: You may not fit the charger in the pouch but would not bother you anyway as you will use your cellphone or other gadgets charger anyway when travelling. Good buy, thumbs up!
Outside of that one detail though, the Tough Pouch is very well made and I can see it living through many years of use.
