These pants provide a year round solution for riding in safety. The perforated pants provide adequate ventilation for summer riding while also having hard armor in the knees and softer armor around the hips. The wind/rain liner is good for rain conditions or just slightly cool fall riding. Add in the thermal liner for when things start getting really cold and you can ride well into the winter (depending on your motorcycle/scooter and abilities). Unfortunately, I have already put these pants to the test in an accident and they performed as expected. The knee armor took a serious hit. I probably would not be walking for a while if that had been my knee taking that damage. So where your safety gear all the time and don't forget any part of it, unless you don't mind scraping that part of your body off. Safety is more than a helmet. Remember gloves, jacket, pants, & boots.

These pants have three parts. Starting at the outside there is a mesh, which seems a little less sturdy than other pants but is quite cool on warm days. Inside that is a rain and wind liner which stops wind, but obviously lets the mesh get soaked if you are riding on rainy days. Finally, there is an insulated liner. Both liners are removable, but the pants get quite bulky if you ride with both of them in. They also make it a little tricky to don and doff the pants. I'd probably go for the standard Venture pants, with only one insulated liner, if I were to do it again. TOURMASTER/CORTECH VENTURE MOTORCYCLE PANTS HI-VIS YEL SIZE:SML

These pants are far nicer than I thought they would be. They pass a lot of air and they're very comfortable to wear as overpants. Summer is just starting to ramp up here in NY so we'll be able to test them more as the summer rolls on. The liner is good, although, it would be nice if the zipper in the liner legs went up as far as the zipper on the pants. Getting feet in/out with the liner in can be difficult. Rain protection with the liner in is pretty good. No complaints yet but I've only been in light rain so far. I would buy them again.
