Love these popsicle molds!

These popsicle molds are not only good-looking, but also solid and sturdy. They fit into their base firmly, which you wouldn't know by looking at the picture. I love that they can be individually removed from the base as well as individually filled with whatever you want. I fill mine with yogurt sweetened with orange juice, stevia, and fresh fruit chunks. This makes for a much healthier snack than the popsicles you can buy at the grocery store.

One star off for design flaw.

These popsicle molds are very cute and make cool star-shaped popsicles. I've had no trouble getting the popsicles out of the molds. The box recommends squeezing the tube slightly or running it under warm water, both of which really help. However, the aptly named drip tray is too shallow. Melted liquid accumulates and pours out of it after a while. You're substituting several small drips for one big one. Not a huge issue, but annoying. The only other thing is that it does take up a lot of room in the freezer (see the dimensions). Overall, I'm happy with them. The stand makes them easy to fill and they could be taken out of it when frozen for better storage ease. Maybe the drippy issue won't be a problem once this summer heat wave is over. Plus, it's great to make my own popsicles and leave out all the funky additives and coloring that are in commercial brands.

tovolo popsicle molds

these molds are the best!!! i was worried i might have a problem getting them out of the mold, but they come out so easily. i use them for yogurt, also sugar free instant puddings. so nice to have the flavors we want.

Easy-to-use & safe-plastic popsicle molds!

I researched quite a bit before making this purchase and I'm so glad I did! The Tovolo popsicle molds are fantastic!! They are easy to use, easy to clean and they have used non-leaching plastic which makes me very happy (I contacted Tovolo directly to confirm this)!

The size of the popsicles is rather large -- but we've been making healthy fruit-yogurt smoothie pops at home and my three year old can easily polish off an entire popsicle... so the size isn't a problem!!

Be sure to leave a half an inch or so when filling the popsicles or as they expand in the freezer they may spill over. That happened to us once, but the base captured the spill over so the clean up was really easy. They do take up quite a bit of space in the freezer when they are first freezing, but as long as you leave adequate space when you first fill them (so they don't spill over and get sticky), you can remove them from the base and tuck them anywhere in your freezer.

This is a fantastic summer cooking "tool"... and we've been giving them to our friends as presents and so far, everyone else has loved them too!

Clever design and BPA-free

Consumers sure can be tough on a product. While these ice pop molds got generally great ratings, I've also read comments here that the molds are too big for a child to eat, that they drip when tilted, that they take up too much space in the freezer and that they're hard to remove from the mold.

While these may all be true, they really do seem like minor inconveniences that are still far outweighted by giving you the ability to make your own healthy popsicles and save money at the same time.

I think it was about the time I saw Edy's fruit bars for sale at $4.99 for a box of 6 that I revolted and said, there's got to be a more affordable way to get a cold summertime treat.

I would like to point out that while other Tovolo popsicle molds indicated the product was BPA-free, this one did not, and I was concerned enough about that question to contact Amazon, who couldn't answer the question. So I got contact information for Tovolo from them and emailed Tovolo with the same question. They responded in a day and said that yes, all their products are BPA-free. So hopefully that puts to bed that particular question.

I made my first batch of popsicles yesterday using a simple online recipe that called for 1.5 cups of plain yogurt and a half cup of mango, blended together. While I was greatly disappointed with how the popsicles tasted (pretty much like plain vanilla; you could barely detect the mango) that's in no way a reflection on the popsicle molds.

I think the overall design is very clever. A small tray that holds 6 popsicle molds in an upright position. After pouring in your fruit/yogurt mix, you simply insert the plastic stick, which is attached to the cover which, when held upright, also functions as a drip tray.

After they're frozen, grab one and run it under hot water for a few seconds. I don't like wasting water, so I let the water run into a pot I'll use for other things later.

I didn't think the popsicle was overally big and I don't think most kids except toddlers would think so, either. I did drip on myself, but so what...it's a popsicle. Comes with the territory. I suppose if they wanted to perfect the design they could make the little star-shaped tray underneath each popsicle, intended to catch drips, a tad wider and a tad deeper. Then this product would surely be deserving of 5 stars.

LOVE THESE!

I was looking everywhere for popsicle molds. Who knew they would be so hard to find? These are wonderful! Hold just the right about of liquid to freeze, easy to clean, and they're kind of cool looking. At first I thought it was a pain to keep them upright on that stand in the freezer. Then I clued into the fact that I could take them off of the stand once they froze so they wouldn't take so much room. Duh.

Not a good choice for small children

Like to be able to make my own popsicles

I like that I can make my own popsicles since I can only get a few flavors at the store. Getting one for my nephew so he doesn't get all the sugar from the store-bought ones. Takes up a lot of room in my freezer though. And it will drip while eating it.
