About the Author

The author, Martha I. Clyburn, worked as a social worker and counselor for many years, In these positions she learned about the many community services and resources which are available. She has also been caregiver for 5 family members and friends. As a caregiver she realized the need for guidance and information and designed forms for helping her track important details. As an author, photographer, and poet she has previously published other books and after the encouragement of family and friends decided to publish "Toward Better Days", a book of inspiration and information for the incapacitated and informal caregiver. "Toward Better Days" is the result of a natural progression from her social services background, her writing experiences, and her personal experiences as a caregiver. In "Toward Better Days" she has incorporated information, details, and forms which she found helpful in caring for loved ones. . The author is a graduate of North Georgia College and is a member of the Writer's Workshop of Asheville, NC and the International Women's Writing Guild.
