I strongly recommend the monograph. The articles provided here are insightful critiques of the phenomenon known as Pentecostal preaching. Collectively, I see them as an important step towards the worthy task of joining the Acadamy to the Church and the need to find common ground between spirituality and higher education. This work could very well become a standard for perpetuating the Pentecostal tradition and for articulating what it means to be a Pentecostal preacher. Both Pentecostals and non-Pentecostals would benefit from this important work. I especially recommend this to our up-and-coming Pentecostal preachers.

A Needed Contribution to the Field of Study

Although I am the author of the last chapter, I am rating the other chapters as a homiletician. This is a significant work and contribution toward a field that has been largely neglected. A great read for scholars concerned about theology in practical application in the life of the church and for pastors willing to think more deeply about their task.
