In a world where engineered, pre-emptive, or more fashionably "humanitarian" wars of aggression have become the norm, this challenging book may be our final wake-up call. --Denis Halliday, Former Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations
This book is a 'must' resource - a richly documented and systematic diagnosis of the supremely pathological geo-strategic planning of U.S. wars since 9-11 against non-nuclear countries to seize their oil fields and resources under cover of "freedom and democracy". --John McMurtry, Professor of Philosophy, Guelph University

Professor Chossudovsky's hard-hitting and compelling book explains why and how we must immediately undertake a concerted and committed campaign to head off this impending cataclysmic demise of the human race and planet Earth. This book is required reading for everyone in the peace movement around the world. -- Francis A. Boyle, Professor of International Law, University of Illinois College of Law.
The global anti-war movement must use this book as a counter-propaganda tool against the Military Industrial Complex's war agenda. It should be everyone's No. 1 priority "Must Read." -- Matthias Chang, distinguished Malaysian lawyer and author of Future Fast Forward.

The book is NOT easy to read, with small print and 70 distinct separately titled pieces, all well-organized but reading like an op-ed book. The author also over-states, in my view the threat of a global nuclear war, while very pragmatically outlining the many ways in which the US and NATO are giving all indications of both tolerating an Israeli attack on Iran, perhaps with an Israeli nuclear bomb into Iran so they can pretend that they destroyed a nuclear facility that was no nuclear at all.
This is not a nuanced book in the sense that the author condemns "the US Government" as a monolyth, rather than the more artful distinction among politicians that have been bought, political appointees that have been gifted a job, senior civil servants confusing loyalty to the chain of command with defense of the Constitution, and then a broad cast of traitors and subversives from neo-conservatives to envangelicals, Pentecostalists, Opus Dei, the Mormons, long-term penetrations of the FBI and DEA and CIA by criminal gangs as well as Wall Street financial families, and so on.
Where I differ from the author is in stoutly maintaining that the US Government as a whole consists of good people trapped in a bad system.Read more ›
Certainly Chossudovsky leans left but his well researched facts are ..... facts.
Very informative in straight forward manner. It basically updates the reader
on policy changes many of us may be unaware of that have occurred incrementally
over the decades, and only partially aware of. I highly recommend this book, because, it makes one aware of
the principals of engagement in the global war Theater in the current age, leaving the
reader with a clearer understanding of the current age, rather than relying on previous knowledge and the assumption of things being the same as they always were.
I was surprised to hear him say, in response to a caller; as a race of humans, "I don't think we're going to make it!"
Well, that probably surprised a few million listeners. But, I find this a common thought. Most people respond, in various ways with, "Don't want to know; don't understand."
Sometimes I think you write to gain adulation from other professors and senior students. I would like to read viable, CLEAR solutions.
Of course, that means taking a chance. I have never regretted doing so. Otherwise, stagnation is the price.

Obviously written from the "America is the problem" point of view. This guy needs to realize just how great this country is and how terrible the world would be without it.Published 13 months ago by Amazon Customer
