Let me start by saying this guitar is actually a pretty good deal. I am serious, 18 dollars for a full 6-string guitar the size of a ukulele? Awesome! I bought this for myself as a joke not really expecting much. I saw the low reviews, many of them being 1-star and was a bit hesitant, but seeing it was 10 dollars I decided to drop the money as I would not be losing too much. Many of the reviews complained that this was just a toy and not a real instrument, I beg to differ.
Now I play guitar (an electric and acoustic) and have been playing for the past 10 years. I am quite knowledgeable in the workings of a guitar and how to set it up. If you notice, many of the 1-star reviews state that this is a bad product because the strings broke and the replacement strings broke too. Let me start off by saying that this is totally expected. Even when buying a high-end guitar, many players if not all, replace the strings with ones they prefer for both sound, quality, and the how long the string will last. Saying that a string broke is not a reason to say this is a bad product. That is like saying a 5000 dollar Gibson guitar is rubbish because its strings broke. As soon as you get this guitar, replace the strings, I suggest with actual guitar strings than the rubbish wire they give. Might I recommend (I am not an affiliate of this company) D'addario Classical Nylon High-Tension Strings. Any type of high tension nylon string will be perfect for this size of guitar and will be easy on the guitar. Reviews have stated that the tuners can't not stay in tune at all, that is also a big lie. There are screws behind each tuner that can be tightened as to stay in tune.

My 2 yr old grandson loves music. He dances and says he's a Rock Star. haha His Unlce plays the guitar and the little guy is fascinated with it. When he opened the box he was so excited. We carried that guitar everywhere today. He played with it constantly. It's perfect size and nice because it looks like a real guitar. Be careful not to tighten the strings too tight; they will break. It is well worth the money as far as I'm concerned for a 2 yrs.old. Although the shipping was almost as much as the Guitar. I wasn't able to find one in the store that was the right size and had real strings. Overall I'm pleased with my prurchase.

This was a present for my 3 year old. It's perfect for play..... It's not the best quality ever, but it is good enough for a 3 year old to play with and pretend. We had some difficulty with the strings being loose, but we tightened some screws and we were back in business!

So this guitar is a great toy! It is not a real guitar. It does have real steel strings though. It cannot be tuned due to the nuts not staying tight though. It is PERFECT for my 18 months old. She loves it, and is rough on it as well, and it's held up so far. It is also the perfect size for her. I would recommend this for a toy for any small child (18 months - 5 years) wanting to play with a "real" guitar. It also look great as well!

This is definitely a toy, and cannot be tuned correctly with the strings provided. The product also gives off a chemical/paint smell for several days after being taken out of the package. That said, my nephew enjoys it - perhaps with new strings and some work, it could be made into a working guitar.

I bought this guitar for my little brother (3 years old). It is the perfect size for his small hands. I realize this is just a toy but was kinda hoping I could tune it like a classical. Unfortunately some of the strings don't sound quite right and it easily goes out of tune. It's pretty cute and fun for little kids though.

This is a very nice looking toy guitar, and with the price in mind I was surprised at how well manufactured it appeared to be. We bought this for our 18 month year old, who was obsessed with the actual guitars we had hanging on our wall -- which we really didn't want him playing with. As other reviews have noted, I wouldn't consider this a musical instrument, especially as it's very difficult to keep the strings in tune. But you will generally get pleasing sounds out of it -- certainly a close enough match for a toddler, and the size was right for our little guy.

The downside is that the guitar is not super durable -- at least not for a toddler. The three high strings have broke in about 4 months of use. But that leaves us with three strings remaining, and my boy doesn't seem to notice the difference. Also my son managed to break the neck off entirely by swinging this like an axe into the tile floor. I can't really blame that on the product -- and the good news is I was able to repair the guitar with some wood glue and a vice, and it's as strong as ever again. Overall a fun toy that looks quite nice; won't last forever but is much cheaper than comparable products.
