    I used this to punch a hole in my tiny gift box to tie it closed. It works perfectly. The ribbon is 1/4 inch wide and I had a little struggle to get it through the holes. An 1/8 " ribbon would work better. I punched regular 65 lb card stock with out problem. I also punched 110 lb card stock without problem. I wouldn't go thicker than 110 lbs card stock.

    This makes a 1/16" inch round hole (about 1.6mm) hole in paper or cardstock.

    If you are threading cutout cardstock or paper as a garland, useful for making a smooth hole without uneven tearing on the sides.

    I used it to make a small hole on watercolor paper ornaments I'd painted for Christmas decorations. The hole is small enough to take heavy thread or string, but not so big as to be unsightly or tear.

    It can also be used to punch designs of very small holes in cardstock.
