New Window Design (I guess this means the screen, probably marketing hype). I haven't noticed ANYTHING special.
Ultra Saving Power Mode
Also, on other websites it states this phone has 1.5 GB of RAM. Amazon is wrong, the box states this phone has the capacity to hold a 128 GB microSD card, not a 32 GB like Amazon was stating.
This phone is not HD, but still has a good display. The HD display would be a little too big for my pocket vs the other I was looking at was my initial thinking. It comes with a flash for the camera. It is a big upgrade from my LG Ultimate 2 phone from May 2015.
Transferring from my other Tracfone was easy. I just called from my old phone using the red activation card. The bonus minutes 360 were automatically added.
My phone came set up as a complete battery hog. Had to go a make some power save adjustments and it fixed the problem. You might have to also. Once I fixed that, the battery life is quite good I think. I realize now that this was the accu weather app draining it, so I seem to be okay now.
Android 6 reminds me of Windows 10. Plain and simplified yet tweaks here and there for the better.
My favorite part of this phone is the 128 GB card.
A big downside I have found is the lack of internal memory at only 8GB. It quickly filled up for me. In the future I will look for a phone with at least 16.
This phone is fairly zippy, but not lightning fast. It is still fast and usable for me and the screen has very vibrant colors with great brightness control. It has 4 preset screen types you can choose from and has a very, very bright display which can be adjusted down to also a very dim setting.
Also, the new Android 6 Ultra Power Saving mode on this phone is really cool for me. It allows me to use the phone in a very simple black and white mode for phone and texting only (along with a few other little things). This saves power but also eliminates the distraction for me of a beautiful color screen with all kinds of things to do when I should be focused on something else, but I can still make calls and text--so it's basically just a simple phone so people can still reach me and I can keep it on for emergencies yet not use a lot of power.
UPDATE 1-13-17: The battery life was really bad for me today while using bluetooth headphones. This did not happen with my old phone. Again, this might have just been another app interferring.
Also, this is a very entry level smartphone, pretty basic but much better than Tracfone releases of just a few years ago.
SPACE WARNING: the bloatware is massive. An 8GB phone is suddenly a 4GB phone. You'd think you could just fix this by adding a 128GB Micro SD card (the max amount on this phone) for internal storage. But Samsung doesn't you to use cards as external storage!!! :((( It's like saying, "Hey, this deal is so good we just had to do something to **** it up a bit 'cause, you know, couldn't make things perfect for a great price like that. Just be grateful, would you?" There are some ways around this that involve reformatting a blank Micro SD on your computer then putting it back in your device and using it as storage forever (things will get funky with your phone's memory if you remove the card). But that takes a LOT of extra time that most of us don't have and effort to learn/figure out/actually do that could be better spent at work earning enough extra money to just buy a phone that actually has a decent amount of storage on it. (4GB smartphone? In 2017?? SERIOUSLY???)
Tracfone also habitually makes their smartphones hard to "check". The only way to figure out how much talk/text/data you have, is to download their app. And it often takes forever for it to update, no matter how many times you press the reload button. This is especially disconcerting if you just purchased minutes from them online or over the app itself and are wondering if they actually came through or if the glitched out like the whole glitchy app itself. At least their customer service is quick, though maybe a bit unhelpful at times. However, this paragraph is about tracfone itself (and their problems are still worth it when you compare their prices to any other company) more than just the phone package here, so I'm not including this complain in my overall rating.
UPDATE 25AUG2017: got it working. So even though this phone supposedly comes with 350mb of data for free, you actually have 0. Even if your new account on tracfone shows 350 mb, and the stupid techs tell you its 350 mb... it's not. So I just bought a $10 plan for the phone for just 1 gig of data, and BAM suddenly the data started coming in. it worked. Why am I so freaking smart?!! Still taking off 1 star for the technicians being so dumb and useless. They made me reset my phone 4 times and kept insisting i trade this one in.
