Tracer: A gripping thriller full of intrigue and suspense (Korso Thrillers Book 1) Kindle Edition
‘Unique and engaging characters woven into the fabric of a fantastic plot. Jason Dean is one to watch’ Marc Cameron, New York Times bestselling author of Tom Clancy Code of Honor
What is a death sentence to a dead man?
He was a man with many names. Moving from country to country, changing his face constantly so as to remain in the shadows, he was nothing more than a ghost. For now, he is known simply as Korso.
A covert salvage operative, he recovers lost artefacts and items, often stolen, for rich benefactors unable to operate through normal channels. But his shadowy existence is shattered upon the arrival at his Bermuda home of the man he had hoped never to see again…
Tasked with recovering a missing, one-of-a-kind shipment in only four days, his elite skill set will be tested to its limits. Failure will result in his identity being revealed to his former boss, the ruthless Nikolic, who would stop at nothing to eliminate the one man who walked away from his organisation.
An exceptional, white-knuckle thriller full of intrigue and suspense, perfect for fans of Rob Sinclair, Mark Dawson and Adam Hamdy.

In terms of the story, it was clear from the outset that Korso was being set up for a fall. I didn’t mind that so much as it was never going to be a walk in the park but it was all too one sided. For every step Korso took forward, he took three back. Mind, he didn’t help his cause by voluntarily short changing himself out of tens or even hundreds of thousands of pounds in commission. Bearing in mind that this is how he makes his living, I didn’t think much of his business plan. I don’t think he was particularly well drawn as a character. The author couldn’t seem to decide if Korso should be ruthless, super smart or some sort of hard man. In the end, he was a jobbing Boy Scout.
One other thing that grated was Ukraine being referred to as the Ukraine. This is a common error, but if, as a writer, you are going to feature Ukraine in your novel as a location, you should research accordingly.
Nowhere near as pulsating as I was hoping.
The story itself (I'm not going to go into detail, so no spoilers...) holds your attention from beginning to end and has cinematic potential.
It will be interesting to see how Korso's character develops in the next book, 'Sanctum'. Something to look forward to in 2022.
