About the Author
Tracy Anderson began dancing as a child and at age 18 traveled to New York to realize her dream of becoming a professional dancer. After experiencing a considerable amount of weight gain, she began to experiment and research her own workout methods to transform her body--and those of others. After ten years of extensive research she developed the Tracy Anderson Method. Anderson has trained stars like Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Courteney Cox, Molly Sims and Naomi Watts, among others. She also owns the Tracy Anderson Method Stuido located in NY and LA and shares her unique workouts through her successful DVDs and webinars.

The recipes are surprisingly yummy, and most take a minimum of prep time. Some ingredients that aren't necessarily on-hand in the average kitchen, but most ingredients are easy to find (and most ingredients are non expensive). I like that most recipes require minimal ingredients, and I love the emphasis on fresh food. These are healthy foods, not "boring diet foods."
I've been doing Tracy's Metamorphasis Glutecentric, which I really like. However, doing the same cardio every day was waking up my boredom bone. So, I cracked out the cardio segments on this included DVD for variety. And I really like these! As others have mentioned, you get two 10 minute cardio segments, so you will have to repeat them to get a full session, but I didn't mind repeating. These cardio segments are high impact and fun, and they are actually easier to follow than any of the other Tracy cardio dance workouts that I've tried.
Overall, I find the workouts easy to follow (still no cue-ing from Tracy). You do have to repeat the sequences to get a full workout, but the short format makes it fit on one disc and provides you the option to get a quickie workout in either as an add on or when you just lack time for a full session.
Workouts are filmed in black and white, and the music is good (by workout DVD music standards).
While I don't always think she explains herself well, I DO like Tracy's workouts quite a lot, and I find them to be effective. They are challenging both physically and mentally. She has lots of moves that are reminicent of pilates or barre work, but with very unique twists.
All in all I think this is great if you want to ignore the menu and cardio advice and do about 20 minutes of sculpt work a day. I do my own cardio of running as I always have.
