This Pure Vanilla Extract with bourbon and is sublime- I purchase it regularly and cook with it as often as I can .
You don’t need to do this -but I add a big wet vanilla bean in the bottle and let it sit as I use it up. The bean lasts several bottles and hypes the intensity of the vanilla flavor - the bourbon helps extract the flavor I guess-
I put those beans in my dry sugar bowl too.
They dry out and petrify, flavoring the dry sugar w a vanilla aroma.

I was a little disappointed at first that it didn't have as rich a flavor as the homemade we've done in the past. Not realistic of me, we're both vanilla freaks & my wife is a chemist. No surprise the extraction was done right, but vanilla wasn't $7 a bean then, either, so it was loaded pretty heavy.
