The TJ’s wash does seem to work - larger fruit seems less waxy than it is off the shelf, which is generally the only indicator I have of a produce wash doing its job. It’s always difficult to tell if all of the wax is off of fruit and if not, whether it’s the wash formula itself or if the user hasn’t spent enough time agitating during the wash process. There doesn’t appear to be any aftertaste to the produce I wash with it, so that’s a good sign. One big bummer is that this isn’t a spray and to use with leafy veggies, one has to dilute the wash in water and rinse the veggies in the dilution, then rinse and dry. I’m used to spray, agitate and rinse directly under water. Seems like a minor inconvenience, but it’s kind of a pain to pull out a big bowl and measure out quantities of wash and water then clean the bowl for your average weeknight dinner.
Not sure if I’ll seek the TJ’s wash out again, but I will use it until it’s gone - only purchased this because there is a nationwide shortage of produce washes during the pandemic and this was the only one available and shipping quickly at the time. The price I paid was very high compared to other washes purchased in-store, but the TJ’s wash does appear to be more concentrated than others, so hopefully the cost will end up evening out. I get that I’m paying a premium for someone else to repackage and sell on Amazon, but it was a hefty markup nonetheless.
