I just had a conversation with the local Trader Joe's regional manager and was told despite the name and "hyperlink" to the "Trader Joe's" products, the company does not sell their products on Amazon, they are all being sold by outside vendors. THIS IS NOT THE ACTUAL TRADER JOE'S STORE.
It doesn't make this, or any of their products bad I just wanted to clarify (and correct) my previous review.
Shame on you, Trader Joe's! I get that you need to charge shipping but $3 in store vs $12 (Prime/free shipping)? They're almost light as air. Hmm, maybe I should stock up & sell them myself, lol! <<<<<< obviously I was misled.>>>>>>
These are absolutely delicious though! I'm not diabetic but still can't process sugar well. That can make things tricky when I get a sweet craving. These are very lovely "cookies" that are very sweet, light & crunchy.
They are nice to keep on hand & work equally well as a quick sweet-treat or served with coffee or a few on top of ice cream.
The container says 4 = 1 serving but 1 (sometimes 2) is plenty to calm my sweet tooth (aprox 6.75g sugar per cookie).
Trader Joe's used to carry these in chocolate & I think lemon flavors, also in the small size (about like a Hershey's Kiss). I hadn't purchased them in a few years until last weekend. I asked & was told they no longer carry anything but these.
I bought these after searching for good meringue cookies at the store and coming up empty. Oh my gosh, these cookies are just heaven in my mouth.
The not so good part - they are too dry and hard on the inside and overly sweet. My ideal meringue should be crunchy on the outside and very tender light on the inside. Not these ones.
These are worth the trip, they melt in your mouth all the while your taste buds are begging for more . . . . hmmmmmmmm good!
