I appreciate getting a review copy for this book from Henri who I enjoy following on twitter for his daily trading wisdom and quotes. As I read this book I found myself agreeing with all his points about trading psychology, risk management, and creating your own edge and process. He did a great job explaining the reality of trading step by step and you can tell he has spent the effort and time creating his own profitable process. This book is filled with trading wisdom based principles and quotes. It is a great place for a new aspiring trader to start looking for that missing piece of their trading puzzle to get them to profitability.

The book being a trading course is not like a workbook or something with an empty sea of lines to fill in. It is more like the idea that you get out what you put in. The homework is clearly labeled and easy to skip and get nothing out of the book, so it was all my effort I put in that gave me dividends. I got out my journal and worked through the questions, even when I thought I might not need to. Some of the greatest value to me was to do the homework and uncover some of my beliefs that allow a better understanding of what my issues are.
The psychological aspect and how proper mindset is so important is now the key factor in how helpful this book is to me. Anytime I get too confident and start over trading because I am "hot" and start shooting from the hip OR when I have a big loss day that affects me, I re-read a chapter or two in the book to right my ship. I think all the wisdom boiled down can set my mind at ease much more quickly than anything else I have ever tried allowing me to get right back in the zone right quick like.
What I particularly like is Mr. Simões' plain spoken way of writing. He distills very complex concepts into very simple easy to understand language.
I imagine he could play 5 sets of tennis and not break a sweat.
I will be looking forward to doing the homework section this year. He has really laid out an actionable plan on techniques necessary to be a successful trader. The only reason this book would not make you a better trader is if you didn't do the homework.
I highly recommend the book for all market traders.
Bravo Mr. Simões and thank you.
Not only did the writer answer my questions that were left unanswered everywhere else, the writer presented the information in great format. I felt like I was having an everyday conversation with the author; whereas with the other trading books I read, I'd have to read a few pages, then absorb the information after my nap. I look forward to reading the authors' blog, and hope I can someday hear him speak.
This book has helped guided me in the direction I need to go in to find the edge I was looking for.
