Steamy, sexy and sweet - Tragically Flawed is a good story that kept me engaged. Not entirely believable, though, and the main character got on my last nerve by the end.

The premise of Tragically Flawed interested me - a muralist (what a unique and fun job, BTW!) and a home builder fall in love on the job. The muralist is meek and afraid due to her tragic past. The home builder is gruff and grumpy due to his tragic past. Together they find a way to heal.

I'll tell you what - Tragically Flawed started off with a bang. We meet Riviera as she is painting in a home. She witnesses something while there that shocks and amazes her. As the reader, it was a bit confusing for me, as I didn't think she knew who Shan was yet. Once I realized that we were joining their story already in progress, it made a bit more sense. Even moreso when the next chapter backs things up by six months so that we could see how Riviera came to be in Colorado in the first place.

I really liked Shan. He was everything I love in a hero - strong, independent, a family man and slightly flawed. I loved his super protective instinct and how he tried to take care of Riviera (once he got over himself, that is). The protective guys suck me in every single time.

Riviera - honestly I had a problem with her. The poor thing had a horrific life up to this point. And, I mean the worst of the worst. Abusive parents. Abusive boyfriend. I get that the author was trying to present us with a girl who needed to find some real love for the first time in her life. But, it was all a little bit over the top. Pretty much anything you can think of that could've happened to a tragic figure, happened to Riviera. Just one of those things would've been enough for me to believe her.

I really tried but this was a no go for me. Great premise but the dialog was that of 45 or older. There is no way a 24 yr old talks like that. I really tried but the interactions were just awkward and I just didn't feel the spark like reading other books even with the lead girl has been abused. For the price it seemed great but I can't even finish and I'm only 25% in. Just wanted to let people know because I read a lot!! Over 1200 books on my kindle and this was a no for me.

The story pretty much annoyed me the entire time; and the writing was poor unfortunately. The conversations between all the characters was so unrealistic I cringed way too many times. Ah well, NEXT!

AM Hargrove you've done it again! This is such a great story... I loved the dynamic of Shan and Riv and the peripheral characters (Amiee, Gray, Drexel) were awesome. I hope that Amiee and Drexel have their own story but that's a wish! Anyway, I loved how the development of the story was on target and not far fetched. I loved the steamy scenes as well! Great job!

Tragically Flawed by A.M. Hargrove

Beautiful, Heartbreaking, Sexy, Steamy are just a few of the words I will use to describe Tragically Flawed written by A.M. Hargrove. A.M's writing is phenomenal, the story, plot and characters are so well written that you instantly feel connected and cannot stop reading this story.
We are first introduced to Riviera and what you experience here is heartbreak and maybe some tears will be shed. Riviera is in a horrible situation and leaving an abusive relationship is never easy. But she does get away and has plans to start over and have the life she deserves. Riviera is courageous, strong and a survivor, but her past has made her weary and trust does not come easy for her. Things are looking up for her though when she secures herself a new great job.

Here we meet Shan, now this character is hot, sexy, single, sensitive and a bit intimidating. I just loved him. His protective nature, sensitive side all wrapped up in this beautiful man. The chemistry between these two jump right off the pages. And the romance is superb.

Tragically Flawed is a must read! I have to say it is one of the best book I've read that A.M Hargrove has written to date. Don't get me wrong though all her other books are fantastic but I truly think this is the most exciting, steamy and just over all one of the best stories I've read recently. From what I have seen of A.M. Hargrove's writing it appears each books she writes just gets better and better. I am really looking forward to her next book whatever that may be.

Tragically Flawed is one of my 10 ten favorites of the year.

So if your reading my review I suggest you grab yourself a copy and then go take a look at all A.M. other published books, you will not be disappointed.

Like so many times before, A.M. Hargrove cast a spell on me. I've read all of her books and always found that my time spent in her stories was too brief. I'm always left wanting more.

So, when I got my hands on Tragically Flawed, I had to start reading right away.

What I discovered was a captivating love story with flesh and blood characters haunted by their past.

Riviera has escaped an abusive relationship, but the scars and bruises remain on the inside long after they fade from her body.

Starting over in a new town, she finds a roommate who becomes her close friend and supporter.

While her talent for painting lands Riviera a job quickly, her boss is insecure and has a reputation for bullying her employees.

Shan is the owner of Shandon Homes and that's how they first meet. While working in what Riviera thinks is an empty house, her boisterous singing awakens a monster. Shan storms in, shouting abuse and reduces her to a quivering wreck.

Their first meeting may have been a disaster but as they work together and begin to know each other, their attraction grows.

Can two damaged people, one unable to forgive himself for a past tragedy and one running from the echoes of her previous life find healing and trust through each other?

Riviera is a woman to applaud. Scared and vulnerable, she's also strong and determined. Sure, she's danced with the devil, but she still believes there's good in the world.

Shan is sexy, bold and alpha all the way, but he's burdened with guilt over his part in the loss of a friend. Riviera slips past the walls he hides behind and gives him hope.
