This backpack material is quite thin. I had to extend the straps almost all the way before I could put it on. I doubt that it would hold more than about 30 lb without ripping.
However - what I bought this for was to put a spare set of clothing and toiletries in it, and stash it behind the seat of my pickup. That way if, for some reason, my one day trip turned into a two day trip, and I had to stop at a motel, or I got caught in the rain and was soaked, I had clean dry clothes to change into and the ability to brush my teeth. This will allow me to keep all of that together, and since I would be carrying less than 10 lb, and carrying it no farther than the parking lot to the room, this will work fine.

Product quality is really bad, kind of expected for such a cheap item, but I hope to get at least a handful of uses. I use this backpack as beach backpack, so it never contained anything heavier than a beach towel, my shoes, and occasionally an extra bathing suit: the seams in the back are already starting to fall apart. It's a shame because the backpack was really handy, not too large, not too small, but the very poor construction quality is a big issue.Wouldn't buy it again.
