I was thinking we'd get Arron and Lysander's POV in this story but instead we get Arron and Owen. Owen's snark balances Arron's shyness but it goes a bit far and makes him seem more immature and petty after not too long. I was also thinking we'd get more of the romance development than we did. There wasn't enough page time on that. The focus of the story was more on the twins' dynamic and the drama surrounding the arrows. I must say that I found that quite disappointing.
If the romance were better developed and we had Lysander's view I would have liked it much better. The only bit that made having both Arron and Owen involved in the story was with Tom and what he could see. There's also no hint about Owen's relationship so he may or may not get his own story next. The length of the story was the real detriment to both the plot and the relationship. With a couple/few more chapters I think we could have had something more full, complete, deep, and satisfying.
This book is the third in a series, that I felt can be read as a stand alone, I never read the first two but I will be. This story is about Arron and Lysander both of whom who I really liked alot. Lysander was funny and smart and I really wanted to get to know him on a deeper level. While Arron was kinda shy and introverted I really related to him as our personalities are similar. I thought they were a great fit together and I was rooting for their HEA.
The storyline was was fun and it really caught me up. I liked the world building and the other characters. It was intriguing and it was a very low-angst heartwarming story that is perfect for the Valentine's season!
I would definitely recommend this and I would say to start with book one and read in order for the most enjoyment, but I never felt lost or like I was missing something so as I said, they can be read as stand alones!
It is another take on the Cupid story where everyone can be Cupids, even vampires, like Lysander. Thankfully, the Cupids didn’t follow through on their threat to strike on Valentine’s Day.
The story is told from Arron and Owen's POV. As a result, I could get quite a good grasp on these two men. That wasn't the case for Lysander. I saw glimpses of the attraction between Arron and Lysander. However, I found the romance part a bit low-key. Not that it matters in the least, but don't expect sweet, romantic moments.
That being said, it is a very entertaining story.
Arron and Owen are twins that are so very different. Arron is shy, socially awkward and serious in his magic studies, where Owen is flirty, socially a flirt and easily bored. It was interesting watching them try and be one person and do one job. Arron's attraction and connection with Lysander makes the whole process impossible.
Arron and Lysander are cute together. Just a wonderful short read!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Twin Owen has landed a job working as a cupid. Too bad he can’t do the whole 9 to 5 thing. But that’s okay, his twin Arron can work the mornings and he’ll work the afternoons. Easy, right? Except the twins are nothing alike. Were Owen is outgoing and outrageous, Arron is shy and quiet. To complicate matters, Arron as Owen, is paired with Lysander. Who he wants to get to know much better and can’t because nobody at the agency knows him as himself.
This is a cute story to read. Loved that the previous characters show up in this story too. Now I think Owen needs to run into his own cupid’s arrow.
