Despite the letdown I felt from this book, it was still far better than almost everything else I have read in this genre. I am already anxious to read Wright's next work.
The bad news is that even here, in what have heretofore been pretty well-edited novellas, the editing is slipping. Repeated words, missing words, typos, unclear sentences, even a misnamed character (Heather? Who is Heather? "Haley" and "leather," perhaps?) all make appearances--and too frequently for professional writing. Does it detract from the story? Not really. But no one who's paid for a book should have to ask that question.
It had my stomach in knots watching Tom and Erin's marriage come apart due to the lack of trust that Erin had instilled in him . The ending was bizarre and not sure how I feel about that but it is definitely a great story to read if you want to feel the conflict.
The writing is superb to draw out the emotions throughout the story. To know exactly what Tom is feeling and knowing and seeing the love that Erin has for him but at the same time seeing the barriers between them is amazing.
This is definitely the best of the series.
to explore more of the inner characters. Book 1 & 2 I sailed through. Great writing that kept me reading and there was always a bit of surprise.
Book 3 at the start, I was concerned where the plot went, perhaps a bit too much cloak and dagger for me. I did feel that the last few chapters
were rushed. Almost as if Mr Wright needed to be done with it.
However, it is a great read, and I so appreciated that the characters continue with their lifestyle, perhaps with a bit more caution. Thanks !
