The one percent are the real movers and shakers in the world and this book aims to help the reader make the shift from the ninety nine into the one. I don't know how realistic this is, but the daily training steps look very realistic and common sensible. Certainly a change from the usual `make yourself a superstar in just a week' type of self-help book, and a very thought-provoking read. You really can do anything you want to do if you really want it badly enough.
This book helps you on your way to realising your goals in life by taking control back from on line social media sites and rubbish television programmes you don't really need to watch. Once you make this switch and start to take back control of your time, things will start to happen for you... according to the author. And he's probably right!
But the approach actually does achieve results, because the very act of thinking about negativity can spur you on to greater things. A set of daily rules to be practiced and adhered too and a self belief that you really do control your own destiny if you learn to ignore the negativity inherent in the world and wash it out of your way of thinking.
I’m not usually a fan of these self-help books. They usually pop out the same old cod psychology, but this is a little diamond of a book…really! The approaches suggested by the author are straightforward and easily do-able. Self motivation is a powerful thing. This book helps affirm that.
That the world wealth and political power is controlled by the wealth of the 1% is not a secret the real motives and shakers in this world are they are because of their nonconformists thoughts and actions Williams teaches us how to become a part of that number. And although it will not happen overnight I do believe that it could actually happen in a week or two but it is designed to help you reach train your brain so that you think this is the perfect book to present to your high school graduate or keep for yourself. Buy it and become the master of your own destiny not just another person marching to someone else's pre-programmed drumbeat.
The other self-help literature that comes to mind, by way of comparison, is John Bradshaw's "Healing the shame that binds you". Bradshaw, like Williams, teaches the importance of shedding internalised guilt and all the cruft of lifelong negativity. The main difference between the two books is that "Trainwashing" is supposed to improve a person's ambition and acumen more than his emotional health, although there is some overlap.
I enjoyed the book and would recommend it. I've been following the 20 daily rules of trainwashing, and although it's too early to say how much this has improved my mental game, at least it's fun.
There are easy rules to follow to help you on your way. It is reminiscent of, The Secret, putting good thoughts into the universe and they will come back to you. You are never too old or young to start Trainwashing. He talks about roadblocks that may be holding you back, and how to handle them and turn things back in the right direction. Using vision boards and being appreciative. You can't help but feel positive just reading the guide.
