I assume that the title of this book,“The Traitor’s Revenge”, might be a hint that there is a traitor involved. What is surprising is who that traitor turns out to be.
Other mysteries are introduced: Why is one of the competing organizations, known as Management, transferring huge sums of money to accounts in foreign countries? Why has Norman's brother, a high ranking member of the Circle, been ordered to return to Richmond from far away? Why has Norman himself become a central player in something that he has always tried to avoid? What role does Harriet, Wallis' mother, play in all of this?
It is mind-blowing when we learn about the strategy that Management is using to hide what is really going on: "War is actually their endgame. Not one large war but many smaller wars that keep pulling different stabilized and independent governments into them. The governments use their resources of money and manpower to put out the fires and are too distracted to notice what's going on in their own countries."
Doesn't that remind you of North Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and more? All of these actual "smaller" wars have fit the aforementioned strategy perfectly. Wow!
Just when things seem to have calmed down in this book, we are faced with another crisis. Could there be a type of civil war brewing? I hope we will find out in the next book in the series which is titled “The Keeper Returns.”
So, is “The Traitor's Revenge” a good read? You bet! Is it well written? Absolutely! That's the kind of book we expect from Martha Carr. It does not/will not disappoint.
What the actual size of the Fed Bank? A man is stealing a tiny bit from an organization that is stealing more from the Fed Reserve. Tiny bits can add up into a fortunes. Even our money reserves are not safe from exploitation by the shadow groups.
A family is in danger and running for their lives. Another seeks sanctuary for his sons and himself from killers after his wife is murdered. A tiny thumb drive is missing, who has it? What is on it?
The blinders are off of Wallis Jones. Someone she has known for years tried to kill her. Even the clergy of her city know about her past. Her safe, comfortable world has exploded. Secrets kept for generations are seeing the light of day.
